Opal Christine McCrackin
Graveside services for Opal Christine McCrackin, 89, Rover, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, June 27, 2021, at Howell Memorial Park Cemetery, with Brother Jim Goss officiating, under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, West Plains.
She was born the daughter of the late Herbert Ray Cherry and Elsie Corine Dover Cherry, on May 8, 1932 in Frenchtown, Arkansas and died June 22, 2021 in Springfield, Missouri.
She was united in marriage December 16, 1950 in Salem, Arkansas to Jackie Lee McCrackin, who preceded in death June 26, 2012.
She is survived by two children, Danny McCrackin, and wife, Gayle, Bella Vista, Arkansas and Cheryl Ratterree, Springfield, Missouri; one sister, Madge Felts, Glencoe, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Melissa McCrackin and children, Brendan and Anna, Tunas, Missouri, Molly McCrackin, San Diego, California, Robert Cook and wife Tracy and son, Liam, Springfield, Missouri, and Celena Coburn and husband T.J. and children, Clyde, Lillian, and Rylee, Springfield, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one daughter, Sandy McCrackin; her son-in-law, Kevin Ratterree; one brother, Ray Cherry and two sisters, Estelle Goodson and Corina Stevens.
She was a dairy farmer for many years, and later raised beef cattle. She was a cosmetologist for many years, having purchased her first beauty shop in West Plains in 1962. She loved gardening. She told her children, she saw God in her garden. She gave to others many of her garden harvests. She loved her family and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Burial will be in Howell Memorial Park Cemetery, Howell County, Missouri, under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc., West Plains.
