Alan Simer
Alan Simer was born May 5, 1939, in Dyce, Arkansas to Robert Dale and Gerldene (Nally) Simer. Alan departed this life on January 1, 2023, at his home in Thayer, Missouri at the age of 83 years.
He was drafted to the Armed Services in 1957 to the Air Force and honorably served four years. He was a long-time member of the Clifton Masonic Lodge in Thayer Missouri.
He was united in marriage on April 22, 1962, at Clifton Free Will Baptist Church, Thayer, Missouri.
Alan was very proud but not a boastful man of his family, career and loved helping or trying if possible. He was a wonderful mentor, husband, father, granddad, uncle dan and friend.
Through his faith and God’s grace we have had the pleasure to know, love and look-up to such a wonderful person.
Dad truly will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by one brother Dale Gene Simer of DeQueen, Arkansas; two sons Danny Simer, wife Maggie of Mountain Home, Arkansas, and Scotty Simer of Thayer, Missouri; seven grandchildren Sam Simer, wife Annalise, Anthony Simer, wife Bethani, Rachel Braim, Maddy, Evan, Eric and Isaac Simer; five great-grandchildren; a host of brothers-in-law, sister-in-law, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and dear friends; and one very special friend/new family member Mary Madden who helped dad on a daily basis and the one person that hung the moon after moms passing in his blue eyes.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Jean Simer; one daughter Vonda Kay Simer Overbeck; one grandson Tyler Owner Simer; two sisters Glene Kolanoski and Verna Phifer; two brothers Robert Simer and Melton Van Simer
Interment was private on January 3, 2023.
