Graveside services for Artie Mae Brigman, 97, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 20, 2022, at Union Hill Cemetery with Brother Matthew Trail officiating, under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, West Plains.

She was born the daughter of the late Tom Thrasher and Letha Smith Thrasher, on November 6, 1924 in Corinth, Mississippi and died August 13, 2022 in West Plains, Missouri. She was united in marriage March 19, 1950 in Hernando, Mississippi to Joseph Edward Brigman, Jr., who preceded her in death October 19, 2012.

She is survived by two children, Linda Brigman Johnson and husband, Ricky, Corinth, Mississippi and Tommy Brigman and wife Christina, West Plains, Missouri; four grandchildren, Jason Brigman and wife Lesley, West Plains, Missouri; Brian Brigman and wife Jennie, West Plains, Missouri; Kelly Milligan and wife Stacey, Iuka, Mississippi, and Hollie Bishop, Iuka, Mississippi; eight great grandchildren, Garrett Brigman, Sawyer Brigman, Aiden Brigman, Dylan Brigman, Dakota Brigman, Milli Bishop, Chloe Milligan, and Christopher Milligan, and two great great grandchilden, Ethan Milligan and Bella Puskar.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joseph Edward Brigman, Jr.; two brothers, Grady Thrasher and Leon Thrasher.

She was a member of the Shady Grove Baptist Church in the state of Mississippi. She loved to plant garden and also work in her flower beds. She loved to crochet and enjoyed traveling.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital and can be left at the funeral home.

Body will lie in state until time of service.

Burial will be in Union Hill Cemetery, Howell County, Missouri, under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc., West Plains.

    This Lady and her late husband collectively produced a Daughter who was educated in the West Plains School Systems, who was a wish for any Educator. Linda returned to Corinth, Mississippi, the home of her mom by birth. Rest well in the Arm’s of Your Savior, Artie Mae.
