Funeral services for Arnold James Miller, 92, Thomasville, Missouri will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, June 15, 2014 at Carter Funeral Home, Inc., West Plains, Missouri.

Mr. Miller died at 9:00 a.m., Thursday, June 12, 2014 at West Vue Nursing Home, West Plains. He was born August 27, 1921 at Royal Oak, Missouri to Clyde and Leta Campbell Miller.

On March 9, 1946 he was married at Alton, Missouri to Hazle Daves.

Mr. Miller was a veteran having served with the United States Army serving 3 ½ years in WWII as a PFC. He was a retired farmer and enjoyed raising cattle and doing farm work. He was a member of the Pine Hill Assembly of God Church, Thomasville, Missouri.

He is survived by his wife, Hazle Miller of the family home; three grandchildren, Cheryl Judd and husband, Randy of Rover, Missouri, Chad Daugherty of Thomasville, Misouri, and Jennifer Daugherty of Thomasville, Missouri; five great granddaughters, Kayla Judd, Hope Judd of Rover, Missouri, Kaitlyn Daugherty, Edwardsville, Illinois, Rylin Daugherty, Thomasville, Missouri, and Emma Carnefix, Thomasville, Missouri; three step great grandchildren, Aaron Judd, Rover, Missouri, Dessa Carter and husband Josh, Thayer, Missouri, Eli Judd, Red Bay, Alabama; four step great great grandkids, Korra Judd, Bradley and Brooklyn Carter and Olivia Judd; son-in-law Gerald Daugherty, Thomasville, Missouri; two sisters, Lenora Synder, state of Illinois, Ruby Elliott, Harlow, Montana; four sister-in-laws, Pauline Miller, Christine Miller, Jean Daves, Wanda Daves; one brother-in-law Bud Daves, and numerous other famly and friends.

His parents, Clyde and Leta Miller; in-laws, Asa and Bertha Daves; two children, Harold Arnold Miller and Mirland Marie Miller Daugherty; three brothers, Ernest, Cleo, and Irvin Miller; three sisters, Ioma Coble, Vesta Lewis, Opal Woods; one sister-in-law, Lily Miller; four brother-in-laws, Marvin Daves, Herb Coble, Wilburn Lewis and Johnny Woods precede him in death.

He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandpa. He was a man of Great Faith and held

Steadfast to the very end. He will be greatly missed.

Family visitation will be held Saturday, June 14, 2014 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home Chapel, West Plains.

Burial will be in Huddleston Cemetery, Royal Oak, Missouri. Military rites will be performed by the West Plains Honor Guard and the Missouri Funeral Honors Program.

    Hazel and family: Esther and I extend our prayers and sympathy. I have fond memories or Arnold as a man among men who was gracious and kind to me. I remember you and Arnold spending a lot of time with my Dad and Mother on a trip or two out west.
