Amos Ardell James was born the son of Amos Arthur James and Alta Marie (Goins) James on December 14,1951, in Jonesboro, Arkansas, and departed this life May 8, 2015, at Shady Oaks Healthcare in Thayer, Missouri, at the age of 63 years.

He is survived by his sister, Loretta Pulliam and husband, James of Myrtle, Missouri; one niece, Michelle Lee and husband, Jeff Croney of Myrtle, Missouri; one nephew, Bill Shaw, Jr. and wife, Kim of Couch, Missouri; three great nephews, Seth Lee, Chris Lee and Colby Shaw; several cousins; other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Amos and Alta James.

Ardell was a graduate of the State School #60 in Doniphan, Missouri. He was a Christian, and attended the First Baptist Church in Myrtle, Missouri. Ardell has now “gone to see Jesus.” He loved listening to Gospel music and enjoyed building with Lincoln Logs.

He will be remembered as deeply devoted to his family, and was truly a loving son, brother and uncle. He will be missed by his family and his cherished life-long friends.

Funeral Services for Ardell will be Monday, May 11, 2015, at 2:00 PM at Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer, Missouri, with Brother Jake Lawrence officiating.

The family will receive friends Monday, May 11th from 1:00 PM until service time at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial will be in the Myrtle Cemetery with services under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc. in Thayer.

    Thinking of your family, Ardell is probably visiting with his Mom and Dad, I’m sure he has already spoke with Jesus – may this help bring you peace.
