Anna Gean (Walters) Thomas, age 81, of Thayer, Missouri passed away at Shady Oaks Nursing Home on May 6, 2023. Anna was born July 29, 1941, to Everett and Ella (Stevens) Walters in Alton, Missouri.
Gean married the love of her life Frank Thomas on August 24, 1987. She loved to spend time with her family, friends, go to yard sales and especially loved to go riding around on the back roads with Ida. Gean will be greatly missed by all that knew her.
Gean was a born again Christian.
She is survived by one Aunt Norma Shawatter; one nephew Mark Todd, wife Kathy; stepsons Mike Thomas, wife Denise and Charles Thomas, wife Kathy; two loving friends that she called sisters Ida Slackhouse and Carolyn Cowens; numerous family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her daughter Joanna Gail Walters; her husband; four sisters Glenna Sue Madden, Mary Lou Tucker, Wilma Jane Walters and Kathryn Diann Walters; one brother Bill Walters and one infant brother.
Visitation service for Anna Gean Thomas, age 81, of Thayer, Missouri, will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer, Missouri.
Interment will be private under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc. in Thayer, Missouri.

It was sad to receive the news of Ms Anna Gene passing. I remember Anna Gene as a classmate from the Couch Class of 1959. She was very quiet but a fun person to be around. Once she got to know you, her loving heart and personality really began to shine. We have kept in touch with each other for 64 years.
