Scottie J. Caldwell was born the son of Wesley G. Caldwell and Emma Holman Caldwell on March 12, 1937 in Thayer, Missouri and departed this life February 5, 2011 in West Plains, Missouri at the age of 73 years.

He was united in marriage to Alice Marie Cunningham who preceded him in death. He was united in marriage on August 10, 1978 at Mountain Home, Arkansas to Cora Pyles.

He is survived by his wife, Cora Caldwell of the home in Myrtle, Missouri seven children, Wesley Caldwell and wife, Diane of Maynard, Arkansas, Melba Croney and husband, Mitchell of Moberly, Missouri, Danny Zook and wife, Stacey of Myrtle, Missouri, Scott Caldwell, Jr. and wife, Traci of Myrtle, Missouri, Andy Caldwell of Myrtle, Missouri, Thelma Franks and Eugene Hurst both of Mountain Home, Arkansas; eighteen grandchildren, Leslie, Allicia, Mary Lauren, Mary, Danielle, Jale, Michelle, Marissa, Trey, Matthew, Blake, Michael, Cody, Amy, Tabitha, Bradley, Robert and Kenneth; two great grandchildren, Haven and Everr; one sister, Scheryl Helms and husband, Ray of Maynard, Arkansas; other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wesley and Emma Caldwell and one son, Douglas Caldwell.

Scottie was a Veteran of the United States Army, serving his country during the Korean Conflict.

He was a Brakeman for Frisco Railroad for several years and was a self-employed heavy equipment operator.

Scottie was an outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing and gardening. He cherished the time spent with his family, especially his grandkids and his dog, Sadie. He will truly be missed by all.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at 2 PM in Myrtle Cemetery with Pastor Ralph Douglas officiating. Burial will be in Myrtle Cemetery, Myrtle, Missouri.
