James Walter Collins was born the son of John A. Collins and Alice (Dickey) Collins on March 17, 1948 in Wirth, Arkansas, and departed this life on May 29, 2015 in Batesville, Arkansas at the age of 67 years.
He was united in marriage to Pam Capps and was later united in marriage to Marsha Shouse.
He is survived by three children, James Collins and wife, Angeline of Iuka, Mississippi, Donald Collins and Elizabeth Collins both of the home near Hardy, Arkansas; one step-daughter, Samantha Hunt of Colorado; three grandchildren, Caleb, Katelyn, and Carson Collins; five brothers, Johnny Collins of Hardy, Arkansas, Danny Collins of Hardy, Arkansas, Tommy Collins of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas , Everett Collins of Hardy, Arkansas and Clyde Collins of Ravenden, Arkansas; two sisters Mary Lou Merson of Zion, Illinois and Joyce Dommert of Mountain View, Arkansas; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Kenneth and Donald Collins and one sister, Thelma Melton.
Mr. Collins was a Christian and attended Divine Mercy Pentecostal Church in Cherokee Village, Arkansas. He was a farmer and carpenter by trade, a devoted father, grandfather, brother and friend. He will truly be missed by all.
Funeral services for Mr. Collins will be held Sunday, May 31, 2015 at 2:00 PM in the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer with Pastor Willie Willbanks and Reverend Ronnie Kelly officiating.
The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home in Thayer on Sunday, May 31st, from 12:00 noon until the service starts at 2:00.
Burial will be in the Ed Collins Cemetery near Wirth, Arkansas.
