Martha Joyce Howard was born in Thayer, Missouri, the daughter of Floyd Lindsey and Olive Green Lindsey on November 8, 1936 and departed this life on May 4, 2019 in Excelsior Springs, Missouri, at the age of 82 years.
She was united in marriage to Ray Howard and he preceded her in death.
She is survived by her six children, Mike Hatfield and wife, Vonda, of Batesville, Arkansas, Gaylin Hatfield and wife, Alisa, of Cave City, Arkansas, Joy Jackson and husband, Chuck, of Independence, Missouri, Robert Collins and wife, Tabatha, of Batesville, Arkansas, Clint Collins and wife, Karla, of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas, and Daniel Collins and wife, Trang, of Merriam, Kansas; three beloved step children, Kym Sybrandts and husband, Terry, of Loveland, Colorado, Jill McGill and husband, Larry, of Berthoud, Colorado, and Randy Howard of Berthoud, Colorado; one brother, Hershel Lindsey and wife, Martita, of Belize, Central America; twenty-two grandchildren; many great grandchildren; other relatives; and countless friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Howard; her parents Floyd and Olive Lindsey; and two grandchildren, Clint Ashley Walker Collins and Lisa Michelle Hatfield.
Martha worked in food demo at Sam’s Club, retiring after many years of service. She also worked as a bus driver for several years.
She loved to sew, often making beautiful creations for her friends and family. Martha was also an excellent cook and enjoyed spending time in the kitchen. She loved being outdoors tending to her flowers.
Martha will be remembered as a loving and caring mother, grandmother, sister and a friend to all. She will truly be missed by all that knew her.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at 10:00 AM at the Midway Pentecostal Church with Brother Anthony Woods officiating.
