Bettie A. Cook was born the daughter of Frank Bryant and Julia Herm Bryant on November 2, 1925, in Jackson, Missouri, and departed this life April 4, 2018, at Ozarks Medical Center in West Plains, Missouri, at the age of 92 years.
She was united in marriage on May 21, 1960, at Rockford, Illinois, to Walter Cook, who preceded her in death on March 25, 2011.
She is survived by one son, Clinton Huff of Allen, Texas; one daughter, Lori Jewell of Thayer, Missouri; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; other relatives; and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Julia Bryant; her husband, Walter Cook; one daughter, Lois Ann Choat; one grandchild; three brothers, Lloyd Bryant, David Bryant and Richard Bryant; and three sisters, Jean Hall, Cecelia Bryant, and Sharon Bryant.
Bettie, along with her husband, Walter, owned and operated service stations near Hardy, Arkansas, for several years. She also made fishing lures, which she sold locally.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grand children.
Bettie enjoyed working in her garden. Most of all she loved her pride and joy, her dogs, Katie and Freckles.
She was dearly loved by her family and will truly be missed by all who knew her.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 9, 2018, at 2:00 PM at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer with Brother John Holesapple officiating.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 8, 2018 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Carter Funeral Home in Thayer.
Interment will be in Eagle’s Rest Cemetery in Hardy, Arkansas, with services under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc. in Thayer.
