Roger Brewer

Roger Dale Brewer was born the son of Arthur Franklin Brewer Jr. and Bernice Karon (Sherrod) Brewer on September 6, 1953 in Hayti, Missouri, and departed this life in his call to Glory on January 14, 2015 at Ozarks Medical Center in West Plains, Missouri, at the age of 61 years.

Roger was united in marriage May 4, 1979 at Alton, Missouri, to Neta Lucille Williams. To this union, three beautiful blessings from Heaven were added to their little family.

Roger is survived by his wife, Neta Brewer of the home in Couch, Missouri; one son, Jereme Brewer and wife, Jennifer of House Springs, Missouri; two daughters, Hannah Brewer of Paragould, Arkansas, and Abigail (Abby) Brewer of the home; two grandchildren, Jocelynn and Jordin Brewer of House Springs, Missouri; his mother, Bernice Sims of Alton, Missouri; one brother, DeVaudrey Brewer of Alton, Missouri; two sisters, Peggy Dianne Hollis and husband, Mitt of Alton, Missouri, and Carolyn Judd and husband, Claude Jr of Malden, Missouri; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur Brewer, Jr; his mother-in-law, Onie (Bates) Williams; his wife’s grandmother, Bertha (Earls) Williams, who became his “Granny” when he and Neta married; and one niece, Melinda (Judd) Reeves.

Roger retired as a welder repair technician from Chrysler Corporation in Fenton, Missouri, on February 29, 2004 after thirty-one years of service.

He owned a small farm in Couch, Missouri, and was his happiest when puttering around with his tractor, raising a few hogs, and training a dog to work those hogs.

Roger was a minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ with the United Pentecostal Church. He served in the pulpit, and was a servant and friend to the small, wonderful congregation of Divine Mercy UPC in Cherokee Village, Arkansas. He cherished his time spent, one on one, teaching the Bible and leading them to Christ.

He enjoyed life and will be remembered as deeply devoted to his wife, children and grandchildren. He will truly be missed by his family, his church family, and friends.

Funeral Services for Mr. Brewer will be Monday, January 19, 2015, at 1:00 PM at the Refuge Church in Thayer, Missouri.

The family will receive friends Sunday evening, January 18th from 5:00 until 8:00 PM at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer.

Burial will be in the New Salem Cemetery at Couch, Missouri with services under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc. in Thayer.

Have lots of great memories when the church was first started in Hardy later becoming Cherokee Village. Heaven is sweeter with the passing of your beloved husband. Sister Brewer and Family,
We mourn your lose with you and pray that God will comfort you. He was a fine Godly man and loved you all deeply. I am sure he has taken a few laps around glory by now and as he looks down is saying, “Ya’ll need to see this!” with a smirky grin on his face. We are praying for you.
