    Allen Amos Payne of Myrtle, Missouri, passed away January 28, 2025, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 87. He was born April 4, 1937, in Myrtle, Missouri, the son of Ralph and Minnie Scott Payne.

    Allen was a U.S. Army veteran and was proud of his time in the service to his country. He married Joyce Ramsey on August 31, 1968, in Myrtle. The couple raised cattle and hogs on their family farm. Allen was a hard worker and enjoyed his 33 years delivering feed to farms across Missouri and Arkansas for Tindle’s Feed Store.

    He loved spending time with his family and especially enjoyed attending the grandkids games. Allen was a hardworking man, a man of good character and integrity. Allen will be greatly missed by all that knew him.

    Allen is survived by his wife of 56 years, Joyce Payne; daughters, Jennifer (Billy) Haley and Melinda (Sean) Smith; grandchildren, Jessica (Jake) Marcum, William (Bailey) Haley, Bart Smith, and Madison Smith; great-grandchildren Thomas Allen Marcum and Christian James Haley; brother, Albert Payne; sister, Lois (Roy) Diamond; sister-in-law, Sharon Myers; and brothers-in-law, Jimmy Ramsey and  Eddie Ramsey.

    He was preceded in death by his parents; three infant siblings; sisters-in-law, Bernice Payne, Helen Ramsey, and Rose Ramsey; and brother-in-law, Jim Myers.

 

 A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2025 – 1:00 p.m.

    Thoughts of sympathy to Joyce and all the Payne family. I worked with Allen at Tindles for 24 years and remember what a hard-working, dependable man he was. The world needs more folks like Allen Payne and he will be missed.
