AE Young was born July 3, 1931 in Arkansas to the late Powell and Effie Young, and died December 1, 2024 at his family home.

AE was married to Mildred McDaniel at Dumas Arkansas in 1952.

He is survived by his wife, Mildred (McDaniel) Young; four sons, Gene (Millie) Young of Iuka, Mississippi, Dale Young (Melanie) of Lanton, Missouri, one daughter-in-law, Annie Young of West Plains, Missouri, Raymond Young (Connie) of Davenport, Iowa, Larry Young of West Plains, Missouri; Cheryl Chapman of Pomona, Missouri; Paula (Gary) King of Willow Springs, Missouri; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren, and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters; four brothers, and one son, Rodger Young.

AE was a good Christian man who never met a stranger. He worked as a pipeliner for forty-four years. Upon retirement he was a beef cattleman for thirty years. He liked to take his dogs to check the cattle giving them a ride in his ATV.

Funeral services will be held at Carter Funeral Home Chapel in West Plains, Missouri on Saturday, December 7, 2024 at 12 o’clock, with interment at Elk Creek Cemetery, under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc., West Plains.

Body will lie in state from 8:00 a.m. until time of service on Saturday, December 7, 2024 at Carter Funeral Home Chapel, West Plains.

The family would like to give a special thank you to the Hospice Compassus Care for their exceptional care and support.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Junction Hill Pentecostal Church and can be left at the funeral home. All donations collected will be divided between the four charities that AE supported.

    Arthur’s and my thoughts and prayers are with grandma and the family. Please take solace in the thought that he is free of his ailing body and no longer in pain. He has been given new life.
