Howard (Tom) Garrison age 86, of Myrtle, Missouri, passed away December 11, 2023, at his home. Tom was born December 28, 1936, in Sikeston, Missouri, to Herman and Lucille Garrison.
Tom married the love of his life Jessie Mae Gann August 31, 1959, in Lone Oak, Arkansas. To this union four children were born. Howard Thomas Jr., Linda, Janet and Sherman.
Toms’ favorite hobbies were farming, gardening, welding, and building all sorts of things. He also liked going to a good auction and playing with his grandkids. He was a member of the Byrd Church and one of two original deacons of the church.
Tom was a true Christian man who loved everyone he met, was a witness to many and was a very well-liked man who loved to help anyone in need if he could. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Jessie of the home, four children Howard Thomas Jr., wife Kathy of Pocahontas, Arkansas, Linda Honeycutt, husband Jeff of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas, Janet Ward, husband Lanny of Salem, Arkansas and Sherman Garrison, wife Kelly of Myrtle, Missouri; fourteen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren and one on the way; two great-great grandchildren; two brothers; David Garrison, wife Brenda and Steve Garrison, wife Rochelle; one sister Kathy Huddleston, husband Roger; two sister-in-laws Emma Garrison and Betty Garrison; three brother-in-laws Jim(Shirley) Gann, Charles Gann and Gary(Opal) Gann; and several nieces, nephews, family and many friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Lucille Garrison; grandson Eric Garrison; granddaughter Amanda Honeycutt; two brothers Carroll Garrison and Bill Garrison; brother-in-laws Ernie Bray and Jackie Gann; and one sister-in-law Janet Gann.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 15, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at the Byrd Freewill Baptist Church of Myrtle, Missouri.
Visitation will be Thursday, December 14, 2023, from 6:00 p.m.- 8:00 p.m. at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer, Missouri.
Interment will be on Friday, December 15, 2023, in Byrd Cemetery, Myrtle, Missouri, with services under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc. in Thayer, Missouri.

To all the family of Tom, I send my heartfelt sympathy. I enjoyed being in the same class with him at Couch. He was quite the character.

I will always remember Tom’s smile and cutting up. I didn’t ride his bus often but always saw him around school, he was a mainstay in my childhood. I really enjoyed being around him. I am sincerely sorry for your loss. He was always a good guy.
