Charlotte Ann McNeal, 85, was born in Kirksville, Missouri on May 20, 1938, to Edward Joseph Fahey and LaVina Hudnut Fahey. She passed away at her home on August 29, 2023, in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas.
Charlotte started early in her career at FedEx and from there was asked personally by Fred Smith to help establish the Fedex Corporate Credit Association as the founding CEO in 1974. She retired from that position in 2000.
Charlotte was very active in her high school as she was a part of Band, Choir, Student Council, Staff Paper, Basketball, and Softball. She graduated in 1956 from Lagrange High School in Lagrange, Missouri. She was very well known in the Softball and Financial communities in her earlier years which formed many lifelong friendships and played many roles in both.
Charlotte loved to entertain and travel and enjoyed visiting a casino. Charlotte and her husband Tom McNeal (deceased) who flew their own plane. She rode her own motorcycle and she loved to scuba dive.
Charlotte finally moved where her heart lead her, from city living to river living in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas where she has many friends that she loves.
Charlotte, also known as “Shorty” and “Nana” by all of her closest family and friends, was a true matriarch to them all and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her three children, Wes McNeal (DeAnne),Victoria Sanders(John) and
Jetry McNeal (Debbie); three grandchildren Courtney ( Kale) Fultz, Maggie (Dakota)Crowder and Cody McNeal; three great-grandchildren; cousins Ted Cottrell (Yvonne) and Peggy Cottrell Steinbeck (John); her little buddy Josh Martin, a sweet pure soul that prayed for her endlessly and her dearest friend and companion, Sherry Sanders whose children and grandchildren she loved as her own, along with her beloved dog Teddy and cat, Gingersnap.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Celebration of life will be held Saturday, October 7, 2023, 2:00 p.m. at Charlotte’s home 109 Spring Lake Drive, Mammoth Spring, Arkansas.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.
