Emma Lee Roney was born the daughter of Marion “Pop” and Minnie Alice (Hager) Bonds May 22, 1929, in Hardy, Arkansas and died June 12, 2012, at her home in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas at the age of 83 years.

She was united in marriage February 14, 1967 to James Roney in West Memphis, Arkansas.

She is survived by her husband, Jim Roney of the home in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas; one daughter, Dana Lee Cash Mills of Thayer, Missouri; one sister, Imogene Bonds Thompson of West Memphis, Arkansas; five grandchildren and their families: Alice Mills-Collins, husband Dusty, and great grandchildren Baylee Mills and Dallas Collins of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas. Alan Mills, wife Lynnette, great grandson Brandon all of Thayer. Andy Mills, wife, April, great grandsons Cale and Colton all of Thayer, Missouri. Kellie Kissel, husband Brett, great grandtwins Toby James and Gavin Micheal of Wadesville, Indiana and Casey Newett of Lexington, Kentucky.  She is also survived by several special nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, “Pop” and Alice Bonds; twin brother, LD and brothers, Theo and Doyle Bonds, her sister, Wanda Lou Harriell, and infant siblings: Montie, Raydeen, Marion, and Little Sister.

Emma Lee was a 1948 graduate of the Mammoth Spring High School.  She was kind hearted, caring person.  She was very proud of Mammoth Spring, and served on the 7831 Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post for many years.  She was a member of the Church of Christ.

“Emmy” loved to fish and play bingo, but most important was her family.  There was nothing she would not do for them. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.  She will be remembered fondly by her grandkids as the one person who made you feel “special”.

Graveside Service will be Thursday, June 14, 2012 at 1:00 PM at the Riverside Cemetery in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas with services under the direction of Carter Funeral Home Inc. in Thayer.
