Ola “Venita” Butler was born the daughter of William B. Hutson and Jennie Velma (Collins) Hutson on November 20, 1925 in Salem, Arkansas and died July 5, 2012 at her home in Koshkonong, Missouri at the age of 86 years.
She was united in marriage at Salem, Arkansas on September 8, 1945 to Harold Otis Butler, who preceded her in death on June 18, 2007.
She is survived by four children, Otis Butler and Karen of Koshkonong, Missouri, Lester Butler and Sue of Koshkonong, Missouri, Richard Butler and Sandra of West Plains, Missouri and Carolyn Staley and Ernest of Koshkonong, Missouri; twelve grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Jennie Hutson; her husband, Harold Butler; four brothers, John, Roy, Lewis and Lloyd Hutson and three sisters, Bertha Susan Reavis, Velma Wrenfrow and Lola Armstrong.
Besides being a dedicated homemaker, Venita enjoyed working outdoors. She was known as a hard-working lady, spending many hours with her family, working cattle, helping in the hay field or all other farm related jobs.
She was of the Baptist faith, a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Funeral services will be Saturday, July 7, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carter Funeral Home Chapel at Thayer. The family will receive friends Friday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Shiloh Grand Gulf Cemetery with services under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc. in Thayer.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Shiloh Grand Gulf Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be left at Carter Funeral Home in Thayer.
