Sheri Lea Simmons was born the daughter of Henry Drake and Judy (Cox) Drake on January 23, 1968, in Murfreesboro, Arkansas, and departed this life August 14, 2017, at her home in Thayer, Missouri, at the age of 49 years.
She was united in marriage on April 19, 1986, at North Little Rock, Arkansas, to David Simmons.
She is survived by her husband, David Simmons of Thayer, Missouri; one son, Hunter Simmons of Republic, Missouri; one grandson, Zane Simmons of West Plains, Missouri; her mother, Judy Clark and step-father, Richard Clark of North Little Rock, Arkansas; her mother-in-law, Jean Simmons of Thayer, Missouri; her step-brother, Todd Clark of Little Rock, Arkansas; several aunts, uncles, other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Henry Drake; one infant son; one infant daughter; her father-in-law, John Simmons; and maternal grandparents, Dotson and Mildred Cox.
Sheri was a dedicated homemaker, always filling her home with love for her family.
Her hobbies were reading, painting and growing flowers. Most of all she enjoyed all kinds of crafts, especially making Christmas ornaments.
She was of the Baptist faith and will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, daughter and grandmother. She will be truly missed by her family and friends.
Graveside services will be held Friday, August 18, 2017 at 11:00 AM in the Thayer Cemetery with Brother Clay Risner officiating.
The family will receive friends Friday, August 18th from 10:00 until 11:00 AM at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer.
Burial will be in the Thayer Cemetery, with services under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc. in Thayer.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory, may be made to the funeral home for funeral expense or charity of choice.
