Roy Lee Traw was born the son of Amos Ray Traw and Bertha (Price) Traw on September 2, 1935, in Wirth, Arkansas, and departed this life on October 25, 2016, at his home in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas, at the age of 81 years.
He was united in marriage on April 13, 1953, to Alice Louise Bates, who preceded him in death on April 5, 2005.
He is survived by four children, Janet Cunningham and husband, Robert, Jacky Traw and wife, Jeanne, Tami Keeney and husband, Russ, and Jimmy Traw and wife, Dayna; one daughter-in-law, Treda Traw; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren; three brothers, Troy Traw and wife, Bernita, Carroll Traw and wife, Brenda, and Doyle Traw and wife, Norma; one sister, Joyce Porter; one sister-in-law, Moon Ja Traw; several nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Amos and Bertha Traw; his wife, Alice Traw; one son, Nicky Traw; one daughter, Debbie Pingleton; one son-in-law, Mike Pingleton; one grandchild; one great grandchild; one brother, Amos Ray Traw; one sister, Veda McCradic; and one brother-in-law, Junior McCradic.
Roy was a retired minister of the United Pentecostal faith and a member of the Refuge Apostolic Church in Thayer.
He enjoyed gardening, visiting with people, “never meeting a stranger”, and loved children. He will truly be missed by all.
Graveside services for Roy Lee Traw, age 81, of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas will be held Saturday, October 29, 2016 at 2:00 PM at the Flint Cemetery, with Brother Clay Risner officiating.
Burial will be in Flint Cementery under direction of Carter Funeral Home in Thayer
