Roy Carlon Stewart was born the son of Roy Clifford Stewart and Ester Mae (Malloy) Stewart on June 6, 1935 in Newport, Arkansas, and departed this life on May 29, 2015 at his home near Doniphan, Missouri at the age of 79 years.

He was united in marriage on November 5, 1955 at Flint, Michigan, to Florence Elizabeth “Betty” Easlick.

He is survived by his wife of fity-nine years, Betty Stewart of the home; seven children, Fern Elizabeth Cotter and husband, Keith of Lansing, Michigan, Doris Mae Garcia of Doniphan, Robin Carol Allison of Doniphan, Della Lucille Jentzen and husband, Brian of Lake Michigan, Michigan, Fay Jean Moore and husband, Jimmy of Doniphan, Wilma Marie Stewart of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, and Wesley Clifford Stewart of Doniphan; ten grandchildren, Falania Reppuhn, Jesus Garcia, Jr., Jessica Mendaz, Darril Allison, Jr., Carlin Allison, Racheal Allison, Michael Jentzen, Brittney Arrend, Jennifer Morse and husband, Doug, and Miranda Stanley and husband, Jason; five step grandchildren; twenty-seven great grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; eight great-great-great grandchildren; other relatives; and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Roy Carlon Stewart, Jr.; three grandchildren, Christopher G. Stewart, Dorothy Bohem and Katrina Garcia; one brother, Marvin Odell Stewart; and one sister, Dorris Jean Stewart.

Roy was employed by General Motors for thirty-seven years, retiring as Master Mechanic at Chevy Metal Fab in Flint, Michigan. He was a member of United Auto Workers Local 659-Retired.

He was a hard-worker and enjoyed carpentry, gardening and trap shooting.  He will be remembered as a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather, and a loyal friend.  He will truly be missed by all.

A Memorial Service for Mr. Stewart will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, June 6, 2015, at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer with Shirley Henson officiating.
