Marilyn Nilene Ivey was born the daughter of Lloyd Earl Jones and Bessie Lorene (Rogers) Jones on January 31, 1947, in Koshkonong, Missouri and died September 2, 2016, in West Plains, Missouri, at the age of 69 years.
She is survived by her husband, David of the home in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas; one son, Dale Ivey and wife, Jane of Glencoe, Arkansas; one daughter, Sheila Godwin and husband, Steve of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Cody Tharp, Seth, Sagen and Terra Marie Godwin; four brothers, Garrel Rogers of Koshkonong, Missouri, Beryl Jones of Rover, Missouri, Donnie Jones of Rover, Missouri, and Ronnie Jones of Koshkonong, Missouri; four sisters, Hazel Huizar of Redwood City, California, Earlene Jones of Koshkonong, Missouri, Carolyn Meeker of West Plains, Missouri and Dolly Brashear of Koshkonong, Missouri; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Lorene Jones; one brother, John Wayne Jones and one sister, Terry Marie Whisenant.
Nilene was a hard worker, working as a waitress most of her life. She loved nature, the outdoors, gardening and sharing her flower seeds with family and friends and mowing her yard. She enjoyed woodworking and making treasures for her family and friends.
She was a Christian and believed in the Lord Jesus Christ as her Savior. She will be remembered for her joy of life and a great desire for all to be happy and content.
She was truly a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend and will be missed by all that that knew her.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, September 6, 2016, at 11:00 AM at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer.
Visitation will be Tuesday, September 6th from 10:00 AM until time of the service.
Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery at Mammoth Spring, Arkansas with services under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc. in Thayer.
