Geraldine Brewer was born the daughter of Emerson F. McElroy and Johnnie J. Owens McElroy on August 27, 1936, in Egypt, Arkansas, and departed this life February 8, 2018, in Battlefield, Missouri, at the age of 81 years.
She was united in marriage on February 27, 1960, in Bono, Arkansas, to Clifford “Bill” Melton, who preceded her in death on October 15, 1981.
She is survived by one daughter, Carolyn Faught and husband, Ed of Battlefield, Missouri; two sons, James Melton and wife, Sharon of Paragould, Arkansas and Winfred Melton and wife, Ann of Gatewood, Missouri; four grandchildren, Tracy Winters, Andrea Melton, Chris Rackley, and Eric Faught; several great grandchildren; one sister, Christine Holloway of Bono, Arkansas; other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Emerson and Johnnie McElroy; her husband, Clifford “Bill” Melton; her brother, Kenneth Brogdon; and one sister, Sharon Quesada.
Geraldine was a homemaker and loved watching TV, especially the “Cop” program.
She was a Christian and a long-time member of Midway Pentecostal Church.
She will truly be missed by her family, church family, and friends.
Graveside Services will be held Wednesday, February 14th, 2018, at 1:00 PM at the Cotton Creek Cemetery near Couch, with Brother Anthony Woods officiating.
Interment will be in the Cotton Creek Cemetery with services under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc. in Thayer.
