Edward L. Cordia

Edward L. Cordia was born the son of William Edward and Mary Gertrude (Mearsel) Cordia on September 19, 1948 in St. Louis, Missouri, and departed this life April 23, 2013 at his home in St. Louis, Missouri at the age of 64 years.

He was united in marriage November 4, 1967 in St. Louis, Missouri to Betty Ann Byers.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Cordia of the home in St. Louis, Missouri; four children, William Edward Cordia and wife, Tammy of Fenton, Missouri, Michael David Cordia and Timothy Lee Cordia, both of Cave Junction, Oregon, and Laurie Michelle Cordia of St. Louis, Missouri; four grandchildren, Britni Williams, Crystal Cordia, Dawson Cordia and Makayla Matthews; two sisters, Brenda Michel of Desoto, Missouri and Debbie Been of St. Louis, Missouri; two half sisters, Sherry and Vickie; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Linda Cordia.

Edward retired from Ryerson Steel in St. Louis, Missouri, where he was employed for thirty years.

He is a retired member of the Gateway Cork Ball and also an active member of the Marrisa Fishing Club. Edward was an avid sportsman, especially enjoying fishing, and has now gone to join his loved ones at the big lake in Heaven.

He was a member of the St. Stephens Catholic Church in St. Louis and will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral services will be Saturday, April 27, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer, Missouri with Father Joseph Weidenbenner officiating. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Friday evening, April 26th, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. Burial will be in the McCullough Cemetery near Mammoth Spring, Arkansas with services under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc. in Thayer.
