Cleo L. Riggs was born the son of Lee Waldren Riggs and Augusta (Tickalsky) Riggs on December 24, 1922, in Verdigre, Nebraska, and departed this life on October 13, 2015, at Shepherd’s View Assisted Living in Alton, Missouri, at the age of 92 years.

It is presumed, he is survived by his sister, Lucille Zarhart of Arizona.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Augusta Riggs; and one brother, Leland D. Riggs.

Cleo was a veteran of the United States Army, proudly serving his country during World War II.

He was a truck driver and livestock farmer, raising beef cattle on his farm in Koshkonong, Missouri where he lived most of his life.

Cleo was a great storyteller and would entertain others as long as they cared to sit and listen. He was a kind and generous man, and believed that most people were good-hearted.

He was a Christian and was baptized at Victory Free Will Baptist Church in Alton, Missouri.

Cleo will be remembered for his caring nature, love for his family at Shepherd’s View, and loyalty to friends. He will truly be missed by all.

Graveside Services for Mr. Riggs will be Wednesday, October 21, 2015, at 9:30 AM at the Koshkonong Cemetery in Koshkonong, Missouri.

Military Funeral Honors will be provided by The United States Army and American Legion, Post #344 at Thayer, Missouri.

Burial will be in the Koshkonong Cemetery.
