Charlotte Eldest Colvin was born the daughter of Willard Donald Richardson and Imogene Butler Richardson on July 28, 1942, at Riverside, California, and departed this life on April 5, 2015, in Duluth, Georgia, at the age of 72 years.
She is survived by her two daughters, Teresa Colvin Stillings, husband Mark and their daughter, Lauren of Lawrenceville, Georgia and Andrea Colvin Weaver and her two sons, Kyle and Grant of Ruidoso, New Mexico; her loving stepmother, Sylvia Richardson of Thayer, Missouri; two sisters, Tammy Eldred McPherson and husband, Jerry of Jonesboro, Arkansas, and Terry Eldred James and husband, Scott of Ravenden Springs, Arkansas; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother; three brothers, Donald and Kenneth Richardson and Dwight Eldred, and one sister, Trudy Eldred.
Charlotte graduated with a Bachelors degree in Home Economics from the University of Tennessee.
During her working career, Charlotte was cafeteria manager at Schering-Plough Corporation in Memphis, Tennessee; dietitian at Kirby Pines Senior Living Community in Memphis; and also general manager of the Memphis Food Bank. After many years working in the food industry, Charlotte retired in June of 2014 as the Nutrition Director at Shelby County Head Start in Memphis.
She was a member of American Culinary Federation Greater Memphis Chapter, the Tennessee Restaurant Association, and an Honorary Judge for the Memphis in May International BBQ Contest.
Charlotte was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother and will truly be missed by her family and friends.
Graveside services will be Wednesday, April 8, 2015, at 3:30 PM at the Thayer Cemetery in Thayer, Missouri, with Brother Richard Robinson officiating.
Burial will be in the Thayer Cemetery, with services under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc. in Thayer.

I worked with Mrs. Colvin in Memphis. She was a very sweet lady. I am saddened by her passing. My condolences to all her family.

I just found out last night about Charlotte’s passing. Charlotte was a wonderful woman and was much loved by her Head Start Family. We will keep her family in our thoughts and prayers.

To the Colvin and Richardson Family,
Words, cannot express my heart felt sympathy for my friend’s love ones. I am so deeply sorry to here about Charlotte, she and I shared many conversations especially about our children and grandchildren. I will forever hold a special place in my heart for Charlotte and I will forever miss her calm , sweet and understanding spirit. May God keep you through this time.
