Funeral services for Barbara A. Hammond Provow, 66, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m.. Thursday, April 25, 2013, at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel, West Plains, with Pastor Keith Combs officiating, under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, West Plains.

She was born the daughter of the late Allan Peterson, Sr. and Anna May Rice Peterson, on August 10, 1946 in Sturkie, Arkansas and died April 22, 2013 in West Plains, Missouri.

She was united in marriage August 21, 1995 in Salem, Arkansas to Ronnie Provow.

She is survived by her husband, Ronnie Provow, of the home, West Plains, Missouri; two sons, Dwayne and Michelle Hammond, Peace Valley, Missouri, and Mark and Gayla Hammond, West Plains, Missouri; one brother, Allan Peterson, Jr. and Nellie, West Plains, Missouri; one sister, Evelyn Reynolds and husband, Dale, Nixa, Missouri; three grandchildren, Jacob and Jessica Hammond, both of Peace Valley, Missouri, Steven Olmsted, West Plains, Missouri, and Stephanie and Brad Frieman, Dora, Missouri; one great grandchild, Faith Freiman, Dora, Missouri; two special friends, Myrt Williams, Caster, Louisiana, and Lindsy Barnett, Thayer, Missouri, and several nieces and nephews.

Anna Catherine (Casey) Warren was born the daughter of Clark Edward Casey and Jureta Azalea (Baker) Casey on October 3, 1929 at Alton, Missouri and departed this life March 28, 2013 at West Vue Nursing Facility, at West Plains, Missouri at the age of 83 years, 5 months, and 25 days. Catherine was a Christian having accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her Savior at an early age. Catherine and her husband, Jack, raised two boys at Immanuel Southern Baptist Church in Pomona, Missouri. After Jack’s death, Catherine started attending First Baptist Church of West Plains and served there for over 30 years.

Catherine attended a one room elementary school at Riverton, Missouri with her siblings. After which she attended high school in Alton, Missouri where she graduated. the following year at age 18, she secured a teaching position at Thayer, Missouri for which she took a great deal of pride. She attended college at Southwest Baptist University at Bolivar, Missouri, finishing up her degree in education at Southwest Missouri State (SMS) in Springfield, Missouri. She was united in marriage on February 19, 1955 at Thayer, Missouri to Jack Loyd Warren who preceded her in death on February 18, 1981. Shortly after their marriage, they moved to St. Louis, Missouri for a brief period of time returning to Thayer where she taught school after which she and her husband moved to the West Plains area. Catherine spent many years teaching elementary school. She left teaching to work with her husband, Jack and two sons, Jeff and Doug, on their dairy farm in Olden for ten years.

After selling the farm when her husband Jack became ill, they moved into West Plains to live. After Jack passed away, Catherine spent the next 20 years volunteering for organizations as Ozarks Medical Center and her local church, First Baptist Church of West Plains, Missouri.

She is survived by her two sons and their wives, Jeffery and Amanda Warren of Cedar Hill, Missouri, and Douglas and Brenda Warren of West Plains, Missouri. In addition she had four grandchildren, Sabrina and spouse, Diego, Matthew, and spouse, Tonya, Samantha and spouse, Mark, and Jacqueline and spouse, Jason. She was also blessed with five great grandchildren, Vincenzo, Isabella, Evelyn, Olivia, and Lillian. Also still residing in Alton, Missouri is one brother, John Lewis Casey and his wife, Emma Lou. Many nieces, nephews, and friends greatly enriched her life.

     Michael Shaw passed away peacefully with his Momma at his side March 1, 2013, at Cox South Hospital in Springfield after a long illness.
     Michael was born Aug. 7, 1977, the special son of Becky Day and his father, David Shaw.
     He graduated from Koshkonong High School with the class of 1997. He was proud to work at Ozarks Sheltered Workshop and to have won many medals in Special Olympics, especially swimming.
Michael loved to cook, he loved anything electronic, enjoyed all kinds of video games, drawing, writing and taking all kinds of beautiful pictures.
     Michael loved people and always remembered people when he met them. He always wanted to help and was a very special and thoughtful man.
     He had been a patient for several months at Cox South and was truly loved by so many doctors, nurses and other staff, and they cared for him like he was their own.
     Michael was challenged, but he never let that hold him back. He was always learning new things and enjoyed every day. So many people will miss his big smile and great laugh.
     Michael is survived by his Momma, Becky Day, his brother, Andy Day and his girlfriend, Ceaira Coleman, his father, David Shaw and wife, Lisa, and brother, Nick, all of West Plains; his brothers, Jarrod and Shelby, serving in the military; his grandparents, Meril and Kay Shaw; and uncles, Bruce Shaw, Alton, and Allen Day, West Plains. Also his dear friends and roommates, Jim and Casey Wood and his sweetheart, Sheila Kinder.
     He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Violet (Brazeal) Day and Clifford Earl Day Sr., and his uncle, Steve Day.
     Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, March 16, 2013, at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel, West Plains. Donations may be left at the funeral home in lieu of flowers. A private graveside service will be held at Howell Valley Cemetery at a later date.

Graveside services for Mary Alice Morris Rogers will be held Tuesday, March 12, 2013, 1:30 pm, at Thayer Cemetery, Thayer, Missouri.

Mary was born November 7, 1927 to Elmer and Rose Morris of Thayer, Missouri.

She graduated from Thayer High School with the class of 1946.

On July 23, 1948 she was married to Jewell Rogers at Thayer, Missouri.

They have two children, Jerry Lee Rogers and wife, Beverly, Salem, Arkansas, and Debra Brown and husband, Pat, West Plains, Missouri. They have six grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. Mary has two brothers, Mack Morris and Dean Morris.

Remembrance time for Braylon C. Denny, 7 month old son of Henry and Niki Vandiver Denny, Koshkonong, Missouri, will be held Thursday, March 14, 2013 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home Chapel, West Plains.

Graveside services for Martha Delenna Sutton, 56, Springfield, Missouri, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 9, 2013, at Elijah Cemetery with the Evangelist Joe Bright officiating under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, West Plains.

She was born the daughter of Edwin Lee Moss and Wanda Lee Romans Moss, on October 17, 1956 in Peoria, Illinois and died March 6, 2013 in Springfield, Missouri.

She was united in marriage March 11, 1978 in Peoria, Illinois to James Sutton.

She is survived by her husband, James Sutton, of the home, Springfield, Missouri; her parents, Edwin Lee Moss and Wanda Lee Romans Moss, Springfield, Missouri; two brothers, William Moss and wife Kathy, Marshfield, Missouri, Dale Moss, Peoria, Illinois; two sisters, Rose Hamm and husband Carl, Springfield, Missouri, Lita Dever and husband Frank of Allen, Texas.

Doris Clowell Thornton departed from this world on February 17, 2013 at NHC Healthcare, Joplin, Missouri, surrounded by her family.

She was born on September 19, 1920 in the Zanoni, Missouri area to Fred and Liddie Freeman, the sixth of eight children.

She married Claud Otis Thornton in 1939, and he preceded her in death in 1969.

Doris lived the majority of her married life at Dora, Missouri. She was a homemaker and also worked in the family businesses of the Dora roller skating rink, and the Dora Post and Pole Mill as the bookkeeper. She enjoyed working outside in her vegetable and flower gardens, crocheting, knitting, sewing, and drawing. In March of 2010 she moved to Neosho, Missouri to live near her daughter where she resided at the Gran Villas assisted living facility, and was able to live there until June 2012 when it was necessary for her to be at NHC Healthcare. She was a member of the church of Christ and worshiped with the Ball Church of Christ at Dora, Missouri, and attended the Hillcrest Church of Christ in Neosho when her health would allow. Her main love was her family and she always looked forward to times when they could be together.

Funeral Services for Alfred W. Banuat, 68, Willow Springs, Missouri, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, February 14, 2013, at Carter Funeral Home Chapel, West Plains,with Chaplain Bruce Underhill officiating, under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, West Plains.

He was born the son of the late Valentine Banuat and Wilhelmina Masker Banuat, on October 5, 1944 in Middletown, New York and died February 10, 2013 in Willow Springs, Missouri.

He was united in marriage October 14, 1967 in Greenville, New York to Virginia Moore.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia Moore Banuat, of the home, Willow Springs, Missouri; two children, Paul Banuat and wife, Mary, Rapid City, South Dakota, and Paulette Romans and husband, Travis, Peace Valley, Missouri; one brother, Doug Banuat and wife, Joan, state of Florida; two sisters, Ellen Banuat, state of New York, and Valerie Smith, state of New York; four grandchildren, Pacen Banuat, Rapid City, South Dakota, Makayla Banuat, Perrin Romans and Greg Romans, both of Peace Valley, Missouri.

Funeral services for Virgil Alfred Lasater, 97, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 9, 2013, at the First Christian Church, West Plains, with Pastor Mike Heston officiating, under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc., West Plains.

He was born the son of the late Daniel Lasater and Kate Victoria Fisher Lasater, on February 20, 1915 in Oregon County, Missouri and died February 5, 2013 in West Plains, Missouri.

He was united in marriage November 20, 1937 in Bryan, Ohio to Ruby Virginia Thompson.

He is survived by his wife, Ruby Virginia Thompson Lasater, of the home, West Plains, Missouri; four children, Jerry Lasater and wife, Kelly, Bella Vista, Arkansas, Jean Adams and husband, Charles, Springfield, Illinois, Janet Alexander and husband, Scott, Shawnee, Kansas, and Jacque Gorman and husband, Marv, Franklin, Tennessee; one sister, Evelyn Uphaus, West Plains, Missouri; fifteen grandchildren, forty great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services for Anna Marie Watson, 87, South Fork, Missouri, will be held Saturday, February 2, 2013, at 1:00 p.m. in Mountain View Cemetery under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc., West Plains.

She was born the daughter of the late Tim Stokes and Grace Brown Stokes, on October 1, 1925 in West Plains, Missouri and died January 30, 2013 in West Plains, Missouri.

She was united in marriage September 11, 1946 in Salem, Arkansas to A. L. Foster, unto this union two children were born, Micky and Michael. She was united in marriage May 12, 1951 in Salem, Arkansas to Cecil Paul Watson and his children, Maxine, Paul and Charles, unto this union one child was born, Sheila Marie.

She is survived by five children, Micky Hastings, West Plains, Missouri, Michael Foster and wife, Connie, Wichita, Kansas, Sheila Marie Watson, Ozark, Missouri, Paul Watson and wife, Frances, Rockford, Illinois and Charles Watson and wife, Robin, Rockford, Illinois; one sister, Culen Haughn, West Plains, Missouri; twelve grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
