Jo Ann Bales
Jo Ann Bales, 91, West Plains, Missouri, went home to be with Jesus June 13, 2024 at her home in West Plains, Missouri.
She was born March 10, 1933 in Alton, Missouri to the late William Waggoner and Delia (Strain) Waggoner.
She was united in marriage to William Bales on October 25, 1958 in St. Louis Missouri and from this union three children were born.
Jo Ann loved her family so much and enjoyed spending time with them. She was a member of the Calvary General Baptist Church in West Plains, Missouri, and attended faithfully until she could no longer because of health issues. She enjoyed reading Christian fiction books, especially Amish fiction. She wasn’t a big television person, but she did like to watch Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. She was known for making the Best sage dressing. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her husband, Bill Bales, of the home; two children, Bryan Bales, West Plains, Missouri and Paula Murphy, Chillicothe, Missouri; one sister, Margie Bales, High Ridge, Missouri; five grandchildren, Samantha Sabath and husband, Matthew, Rogers, Arkansas, Shayla Judy and husband, Brad, Branson, Missouri, Sarah May and husband, Andrew, Chillicothe, Missouri, Shane Murphy, Chillicothe, Missouri, and Maudie Bales, Branson, Missouri; ten great grandchildren, Xavier, Leyton, Amandoline, Bradley, Genevieve, Madeline, Amelia, William (Liam), Wade, and Tyson.
She is preceded in death by her parents, one son, Barry Bales; four sisters, Dorothy Waggoner, Helen Bridges, Faye Simmons, and Wilda Lee; two brothers, infant brother, James Waggoner and Raymond Waggoner.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, June 16, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home Chapel, West Plains, Missouri, with Reverend Dwight Chronister officiating.
Visitation will be held Sunday, June 16, 2024 from 1:00 p.m. until time of service.
Burial will be in the Huddleston Cemetery, Oregon County, Missouri, under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc., West Plains, Missouri.
