Charles Talmage Pease

Charles Talmage Pease was born March 7th, 1933. He was raised in Koshkonong Missouri by Charles W. and Jennette Pease. He attended school in Koshkonong Missouri through 10th grade; then Wentworth Military Academy through sophomore year of college; completing college at the University of Missouri (ROTC), majoring in Agriculture Science, minoring in Meats and Butchery. While at college he was on the rifle team and a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. At MU he met and married Mary Lee Hart. Chuck retired a Lt.Col from the US Army, serving as pilot and operations officer. While in the military he and his family lived throughout the US and abroad. Lt.Col Pease also served one tour of duty in Korea and two in Viet Nam. He earned the Master Army Aviation Badge and numerous medals. Charles and Mary Lee retired to their farm in Koshkonong Missouri, fulfilling a life long plan of ranching.

Preceding from this life is his sister, Katharine Pease Young and son Charles Talmage Pease II. He is survived by his wife, Mary Lee; daughter Pamela; son-in-law Kenneth Spreutels; granddaughter Kendra Lee Spreutels, nieces Carol Bogan; Karen Hart; nephew George Hart IV and exceptional employee Jim Roark.

Memorial Service is March 13th, 11:00am, Koshkonong Methodist Church; Masons Service prior at 10:30. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Shriners Hospital for Children are encouraged.

Mark Andrew Robohm passed away at his home at 11:11pm on Thursday, February 27, 2020. He was born on a beautiful summer day in Englewood, Colorado on July 25, 1970. A day that changed his family forever, for the better. He was the first son and last child born into this family of 3 daughters.

From the start, Mark loved sports. He excelled at soccer and baseball as a child. He took his love of baseball to play for West Plains High School, in West Plains, Missouri, his Freshman and Sophomore years. Then took his talent to Metro Christian Academy, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where he was a standout Catcher on the baseball team his Junior and Senior year. Mark graduated from Metro Christian Academy in 1988. Go Metro Patriots!

After high school Mark attended Baylor University, where as a Freshman he was redshirted on the Baylor Bears baseball team. During this period, he injured his shoulder and was no longer able to play baseball. But this did not stop Mark from fully embracing his college experience. He was a proud member of the Kappa Alpha Order. Two things he truly loved: his Baylor Bears and the Kappa Alpha Order.

Mark graduated from Baylor University in 1992. He went on to a successful career with Price Waterhouse Coopers in Dallas, Texas. In 2000, Mark switched IT jobs to Marubeni-Itochu Tubulars America in Houston, Texas where he had a successful IT career for over 15 years.

Mark enjoyed all sports, especially his Baylor Bears. Mark loved the outdoors and loved to hunt, fish, and garden. Mark loved animals, rescued dogs, and always had a dog, or two, or three. He was a great cook, who loved to cook anything spicy. Mark was intelligent, successful, talented, had a quick wit, and was an incredible athlete. Mark had a huge heart and when he loved, he loved deeply with his whole heart. Mark was an extremely loyal and true friend, just ask any of Mark’s friends. He will be missed by so many from Houston to Seattle and all parts in between. To those who knew him, he made your day, everyday a little brighter.

Mark Andrew Robohm is survived by his parents, K. and Avis Robohm of West Plains, MO; sister, Julie Miller and her 3 children of Bailey, Colorado; sister, Kristin Boggs and Michael Boggs and her 3 children of Pine, Colorado; sister, Susan Thomas and William Thomas and her 2 children of Plano, Texas; and Charlie. He is preceded in death by both sets of Grandparents, Clover, and Max.

John Richmond Walton, Jr. of Thomasville, Missouri, was born on January 28, 1936, the son of John Richmond Walton Sr. and Lorene Mildred Walton. He went to heaven in the arms of his wife, February 25, 2020 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri at the age of 84.

He was united in marriage to Donna Brescia.

He is survived by his wife, Donna, of the home; a sister, Linda, and two sons John III and Curtis, and three stepchildren, Laura, Sherrill, Jerry, and five grandchildren, John IV, Kyle, Lewis, Jeremy, Jordan and Victor, and two great grandchildren and eight great step-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Lorene; sisters, Margaret Ann and Juanita.

Since 1954 he served in the United States Navy as an electrician on submarines and retired in 1974. He received many awards and medals for good conduct, National Defense Service Medal, two Navy Expeditionary Medals, and a Vietnam Service Medal. He loved fishing, boating, and traveling with his wife. He was a 32nd degree mason of Woodside Lodge 387.

He will be missed by his loved ones and friends. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Heart Association or charity of your choice.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. at Woodside Cemetery, Thomasville, Missouri. Local arrangements are under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc.., West Plains.

Dorothy Pauline Vandermark

Dorothy Pauline Vandermark, daughter of Charles Hays and Nellie Coker Hays was born September 25, 1922 in Ardmore, Oklahoma and died February 23, 2020 at her home in West Plains, Missouri at the age of 97 years.

She was united in marriage July 18, 1944 in El Monte, California to Earl Vardermark, who preceded her in death September, 2011.

She is survived by one daughter, Cheryl Hicks, West Plains, Missouri; two grandchildren, Charles Hicks and wife Amelia, St. Louis, Missouri, and Sheri Thompson, West Plains, Missouri; six great grandchildren, Kendra Thompson, Marianne Hicks, Everett Hicks, Shea Thompson, Beau Hicks, and Josias Hicks, and one great great grandson, Kenneth Thompson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, and eight siblings.

Dorothy will be remembered for her love of reading and gardening. She loved traveling and doing activities with the family, and for her love for Jehovah.

She was born the daughter of the late Howell McLain and Cecil Newberry McLain, on March 5, 1931 in Salem, Arkansas and died February 15, 2020 in West Plains, Missouri.

She was united in marriage December 24, 1947 in Viola, Arkansas to Gerald D. LaFevers, who preceded her in death August 8, 2013.

She is survived by three children, Gawaine LaFevers and (Helen, “Toni”), Chillicothe, Missouri; Randall LaFevers, Springfield, Missouri, and Timothy LaFevers, West Plains, Missouri; one granddaughter, LaNette Adkins (Dean), Oak Grove, Missouri; four great grandchildren, Kyle Wilkison (Skyler), Laclede, Missouri, Drew Wilkison (Brittany), Kansas City, Missouri, Dean Adkins III, Kansas City, Missouri, and Libby Adkins, Oak Grove, Missouri; one great grandson, Mavrick Wilkison.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, and one brother, J.C. McClain.

She was a dog lover, especially her poodles. She owned and operated a dog kennel for over 35 years. She had attended the Curry Street Church of Christ, West Plains, whenever she was able to be out and about.

Family visitation will be Thursday, February 20, 2020 from 6-8 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home Chapel, West Plains.

Burial will be in Mt. Calm Cemetery, Fulton County, Arkansas, under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc., West Plains.

Graveside services for William Roark , 79, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at Stuart Union Cemetery with Johnny Roark, Charles Roark, and Randy Ward officiating under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, West Plains.

He was born the son of the late Albert Roark and Edna Ruth Smith Roark, on March 8, 1940 in Koshkonong, Missouri and died February 16, 2020 in West Plains, Missouri.

He was united in marriage October 11, 1958 in West Plains, Missouri to Mary VanWort.

He is survived by his wife, Mary VanWort Roark, of the home, West Plains, Missouri; three children, Mary Louise Carlock, West Plains, Missouri, Laura Brazeal and husband Dwayne, state of Virginia, and Garnette Whisenhunt and husband, Rick, Versailles, Missouri; one sister, Darlis Roark Vincent and husband, Jimmy, West Plains; ten grandchildren, Angel, Amber, Eric, Christina, Erin, Charles, Amanda, Kimberly, Jennifer, and Marabeth; twenty-one great grandchildren, James, Anin, Madison, Aydin, Alora, Ethin, Austin, Bodie, Megan, Mason, Tristin, Wyatt, Rya, Gabe, Heilo, Ashton, Joclynn, Alexus, Luna, Capris, and Jaxon.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, William Roark; one brother, Hubert Roark; one niece, Darlis Lynn Green; one grandson, Keagan Lee Collins; two great grandchildren, Clayton Cole Cobb and Milo Russell.

He worked for the Missouri Conservation Department for 39 1/2 years as a forest district assistant. He was very proud of his Cherokee Ancestry Heritage. He served in the National Guards for ten years.

Memorial contributions may be made to Riverways Hospice or the Moody Fire Department, First Responders and can be left at the funeral home.

Visitation will be Tuesday, February 18, 2020 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home, Inc., West Plains.

Gerald “Pete” Boone

Gerald R. “Pete” Boone was born October 26, 1936 at Hinton, West Virginia to Isaac A. Boone and Clara Hawley Boone. He went to his forever home on February 7, 2020 in West Plains, Missouri at the age of 83.
He was united in marriage to Janice Forristall on July 21, 1961 at Reno First Baptist Church in Reno, Nevada. To this union they added two children Clara and David.
Pete proudly served his country for twenty years in the United States Air Force. He served two tours of duty in Vietnam flying rescue missions. After retiring from the air force, the family moved to West Plains where he was employed at Safeway Charcoal for fifteen years.
He achieved his ordination and went on to preach the gospel at New Liberty and Goodnews Baptist Church.
He loved to feed “his deer” and enjoyed watching the hummingbirds. He loved children and teaching them the word of God.
Pete is survived by his wife, Janice; his daughter, Clara Young; his son, Dave Boone and wife Lisa; sister-in-law, Joyce Ann Forristall, three grandsons, Jason Young and girlfriend Ashley, Wesley Young, Nathan Boone and wife Kialy; one granddaughter, Lynsey Sullivan and husband Cam; three great grandchildren, Kensi Young, Larsen Sullivan and Tanner Sullivan and his little dog buddy “Razz”; as well as several nieces and nephews.
He is proceeded in death by his parents, one brother and three sisters.
In continuing memory of Kiara Holden, the family ask that any contributions be made to “Friends of Kids With Cancer”, and can be left at the funeral home.

Daisy Marie Mills Mulkey, 91, was born the daughter of George Mills and Cora Norman Mills on July 8, 1928 in Couch, Missouri and departed this life February 5, 2020 at her home in West Plains, Missouri.

Daisy was united in marriage to Howard Mulkey on September 8, 1946 in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas and they shared sixty-one years together until his death.
Daisy was survived by and blessed with 5 children, Ray (Marcia) Mulkey, Springfield, Missouri; Steve (Daryl) Mulkey, Nampa, Idaho; Mark (Barb) Mulkey, West Plains, Missouri; Frances (Tim) Gingles, Peculiar, Missouri; Carol (Mike) Ford; Peace Valley, Missouri; 18 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and three sisters-in-law Verdie Mills, Kay Mills, and Rosemarie Mulkey.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 5 brothers, Elgin Mills, Noel Mills, Jim Mills, Bob Mills, George Mills and 2 sisters, Myrtle Martin and Edna Mills.

Daisy’s main priority in life was her family, she made sure they had everything they needed and that her needs came last. Spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren brought her great joy.

Daisy had unwavering faith in God and is remembered by sitting in the church pews asking for prayer for her family, church family, and the nation. She loved reading her bible daily until she was no longer able to.
She enjoyed board games and was a dedicated sports fan. You could guarantee that she would be watching Cardinals baseball on TV and if you called, you would get a run down on what was going on.

She was an excellent cook and took pride in passing down her knowledge to her children. She loved to sew and made her daughter’s Sunday dresses and school clothes. She was well known for producing beautiful quilts and enjoyed sharing them with her family and friends.

Daisy will be remembered for her strong devotion to her husband, children, and faith. Her memory will live long in our hearts.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, February 12, 2:00pm at the Carter funeral Home Chapel in West Plains.
Visitation will be 1:00pm Wednesday until service time.
Burial will be in New Salem Cemetery, Couch, Missouri.

Tina Renee (French) Hendrix, 60, of West Plains, Missouri, passed away surrounded by family members, on Sunday, January 26, 2020, after a short battle with stage 4 lung cancer.
Tina is survived by her husband of 43 years, Dennis Hendrix; three children, Shaun Hendrix and wife Cindy, Pace, FL; Heather Russell and husband Ryan, Centralia, MO; and Deidra Hendrix, West Plains, MO; fifteen grandchildren, Courtney Gibboney and husband Doug, Brayten Hendrix, Brianna Hendrix, Aaron Hendrix, Madison Lipford, Caleb Hendrix, Derrick Wilson, McKenzie Hendrix, Trintan Hendrix, Xaden Lockett, Braeden Russell, Eddie Ramsey Jr., Josh Russell, and Kristina Martin; siblings Terry French and wife Cindy, Tom French and wife Debbie, Teressa Osborn and husband Keith, and Mike French and wife Vivian; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Mabel French, and one brother Keith French.
Tina was born in West Memphis, Arkansas, on July 11, 1959 to Albert and Mabel French. She grew up in a large, close-knit family with five siblings and many cousins who were very much like siblings to her. She also had a very close relationship to her Aunt Dot. In high school, Tina met Dennis Hendrix. The two became high school sweethearts and parents to three children – Shaun, Heather and Deidra – and eventually grandparents to 15 grandchildren, who she loved unconditionally. Tina’s life revolved around her family, and she took every opportunity to be with and care for those she loved. Throughout her life she volunteered in the church and led many youth classes. She had an infectious smile and laugh, was always there to help in every situation, and was an amazing role model to others. Tina welcomed everyone into her home and her heart and considered everyone “part of her family”. She was steadfast in her faith in God, and always put Him first in her life. Tina lived the life of a true servant and constantly put the needs of others before her own.
A celebration of life visitation will be held at Carter Funeral Home, West Plains, on Friday, January 31, 2020 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 1, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home, West Plains.
Burial will be at Amy Union Cemetery, Howell County, Missouri, under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc., West Plains.
