Betty Jean Campbell passed from this life on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 in Rolla, Missouri. Born on December 11, 1937 in Thayer, Missouri to Lee Wilford and Thelma P. Cotham, Betty was the oldest of seven children. After graduating from Couch High School in Myrtle, Missouri, Betty was married to Edgar Leon Campbell on May 7, 1955 in Thayer.
To this marriage, four children were born: Jeanne Kay Pirtle and husband, Chuck of Lexington Park, Maryland, Steven Leon Campbell and wife, Teresa of Boss, Missouri, Karen Ann Orr and husband, John of St. Charles, Missouri, and Rhonda Lee Royer and husband, Frederick of Hooksett, New Hampshire. They also welcomed 12 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Making their home for many years in the St. Charles, Missouri area, Betty was retired from Continental Telephone Company. Betty was a Christian and member of the Church of Christ. She will be best remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Edgar Leon Campbell of Salem, Missouri, her sisters, Vivian Mack, Virginia Harrison, Carolyn Weaver and brother, Norman Cotham, as well as her many children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Raymond and Truman Cotham, and grandson, Dustin J. Cropper.
In lieu of flowers, the family requested donations in her honor be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
Graveside services will be held Friday, October 14, 2016, at 2:00 PM at the Myrtle Cemetery in Myrtle, Missouri.

We were very close to the Campbell family when we lived in St. Charles, we know Betty will be greatly missed, she had a very sweet nature and was loved by everyone who knew her!
