Betty Rae (Ford) Davis was born the daughter of Benjamin Earl Ford and Mary Ruth (Cowgill) Ford on August 15, 1935, in Filer, Idaho, and departed this life on August 5, 2015, at her home in Thayer, Missouri, at the age of 79 years.
She was united in marriage on May 15, 1954, in Mineral county, Nevada, to Clifton Davis, who preceded her in death on November 6, 1991.
She is survived by two daughters, Leona “Susie” Morse and husband, Mirl of Ceres, California, and Mary Keener and husband, Paul of Thayer, Missouri; two sons, Ron Davis and wife, Rita of Klamath Falls, Oregon, and Lee Davis and wife, Susan of Ceres, California; one daughter-in-law, Debra Davis of Copperas Cove, Texas; nine grandchildren, Mirl “Buddy” Morse, Jr., Shawna Santana, Katie Jurado, Nicole Boston, Lee Davis, Jr., Lisa Davis, Shannon Davis, Shaun Davis and Ashley Phillips; eleven great grandchildren; one sister, Kay Napoleon of Gresham, Oregon; nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Benjamin and Mary Ford; her husband of thirty-seven years, Clifton Davis; and one son, Steve Davis.
Betty was a dedicated homemaker and a strong Christian lady. She enjoyed reading, working on puzzles, playing Bingo and slot machines. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren, and cherished the moments spent with them.
She was a member of Reigning in Life Tabernacle in Modesto, California, where she proudly served as church secretary for ten years before moving to Missouri.
She will be remembered as a loving and caring mother and grandmother, a wonderful sister, and a loyal friend. She will truly be missed by all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Mrs. Davis’ memory to the American Diabetes Association and may be sent to Carter Funeral Home in Thayer.
