Lucille Green was born December 5, 1928 in Viola, Arkansas to Glenn Roe and Dora Light Roe.
She graduated from Viola High School in 1946. She was the editor of the first annual there at the high school.
In 1946 her family moved to West Plains and she began working for Kellet-Landis Abstract Company.
In 1951 she married Dewey Green, and they moved to Fort Worth, Texas where Dewey was enrolled in Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. When he graduated, he went into the Army as a chaplain, and they lived in several states, including Alaska. In the 1960’s they moved back to West Plains, and Lucille enrolled in MSU. She earned her BS in Education from ASU in Jonesboro, Arkansas, and taught third grade at Howell Valley School for twenty years. She especially enjoyed having both of her grandchildren as students.
She is preceded in death by her parents; grandparents, Dr. C. E. and Elizabeth Roe and John and Ellen Light, and her husband, Dewey.
Ernest O. Niermann, Jr. was born the son of Ernest O. Niermann, Sr. and Dorothy J. (Zerface) Niermann on June 2, 1938 in St. Louis, Missouri and departed this life September 22, 2012 at Ozarks Medical Center in West Plains, Missouri at the age of 74 years.
He was united in marriage December 23, 1961 at Normandy, Missouri to Kathleen Stacy.
He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Niermann of the home in Thayer, Missouri; six children, Lori Hay and husband, Jeff of College Station, Texas, Cliff L. Niermann of Thayer, Missouri, Crisann Blair of Thayer, Missouri, Jill Lawson and husband, David of West Plains, Missouri, Terrah Harper and husband, Jeremy of Republic, Missouri, and Paul Niermann of Thayer, Missouri; nephew, Jeãñ Niermann of Raleigh, North Carolina; twelve grandchildren, Sierra, Christian, Jared, Calynn, Connor, Camden, Dylan, Olivia, Landon, Everr, Warren and Payton; one great grandchild, Jaxson; his father-in-law, Clifford Stacy of Thayer, Missouri; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Dorothy Niermann; daughter, Sherry Lynn O’Rourke; infant daughter, Lawana Kay; infant granddaughter, Jade Lanay O’Rourke; one brother, James Niermann; and his mother-in-law, Pauline Stacy.
Mr. Niermann was a Veteran, proudly serving his country in the United States Army with the First Army Division.
He was employed by Bell Telephone Company, retiring after 32 years of service as a cable splicer.
Red cherished the time he spent with his family, enjoyed the company of dear friends, was always ready with a helping hand, and was a true friend to all.
He was a Christian man, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather and will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Funeral Services for Mr. Niermann will be Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at 1:00 PM at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer, Missouri.
The family will recieve friends at the Funeral Home on Monday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 PM.
Burial and military honors will be Wednesday, September 26, 2012 in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield, Missouri.
Noble Jerry McFann was born the son of Noble McFann and Sarah Edna (Courington) McFann on December 5, 1948 at Myrtle, Missouri and departed this life September 18, 2012 near Myrtle, Missouri at the age of 63 years.
He was united in marriage October 6, 1989 at Myrtle, Missouri to Peggy Crowe.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy McFann of the home in Myrtle; nine children, Shelly Martin and husband, John of Leon, Kansas, Rochelle Childress and husband, Paul of Benton, Arkansas, Jerri Elder and husband, Aaron of Naylor, Missouri, Leon McFann and wife, Victoria of Wichita, Kansas, Nolie Kern and husband, Tommy of Gilbert, Arizona, Jerry McFann and wife, Rachel of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Phoenix Klemann and husband, Matt of Navarre, Florida, Larry Andrews and wife, Melanie of Cabot, Arkansas and Jerrica McFann of Van Buren, Missouri; twenty-one grandchildren, Jordan, Christopher and wife, Jacki, Caelei and husband, Ryan, Victoria, Shelby, Galen, Selleck, Ruston, Bissette, Lee, Dalton, Christian, Canyon, Tynin, Rusty, Carli, Hollis, Sirus, Sidney and Maycie; four great-grandchildren, Gabrielle, Jaxon, Dallas and Noble; other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Noble and Edna McFann; paternal grandparents, George and Della McFann and maternal grandparents, Virgil and Stella Courington.
Jerry was a graduate of Couch High School, graduating with the Class of 1966. After graduation, he began his career working along side his dad as a logger and at the family sawmill.
As he was growing up he could often be found at the McFann Garage in Myrtle where he soon became a grease monkey. Later in life he became interested in restoring old cars and trucks and was often seen driving one in the Myrtle Yester-Daze Parade.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking, making many treasures for family and friends.
Jerry liked working in the community, visiting with people and cooking, especially when using his special secret barbecue sauce.
The joy of his life was his family. He loved his wife, Peggy, his children and grandchildren, and looked forward with great anticipation to the annual McFann family reunion.
Jerry was a member of the Dellhalf Church of Christ. He will be remembered as a man that lead a simple life with love for his family and a big heart for his fellowman. He will truly be missed by his family and the community in which he lived.
Funeral services for Mr. McFann will be Saturday, September 22, 2012 at 10:30 AM at the Dellhalf Church of Christ near Myrtle, Missouri with Harvey Seagraves officiating. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel on Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Burial will be in the Jeff Cemetery, East of Thayer.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory, to the Myrtle Volunteer Fire Department and left at the funeral home.
Funeral services for Bobby Jake Todd, 78, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, September 16, 2012, at Carter Funeral Home Chapel, West Plains.
He was born the son of the late Earl Henry and Sadie Todd, on March 29, 1934 in Howes Mill, Missouri and died September 13, 2012 in West Plains, Missouri.
He was united in marriage November 22, 1956 in St. Louis, Missouri to Nancy Deckard.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Deckard Todd, of the home, West Plains, Missouri; one son, David Todd, St. Louis, Missouri, and one grandson, Robert Todd, wife Nichole, St. Peters, Missouri.
Steven Charles Heflin was born July 19, 1951 in Batesville, Arkansas. He was the only child of Elwynn Parris “Al” Heflin and Atha Claudine (Garner) Heflin. He died Monday, September 10 after a two-year, hard-fought battle with cancer.
He graduated in 1970 with the class of Highland High School in Arkansas. Steven learned and worked along with his father in the carpentry business, which he did for many years.
He moved to West Plains in 1988 where he worked for Feller Construction and Junior Cromer Construction before working for John Deere from 1994 to 2010.
On November 18, 1989 he was married to Anita Hickman.
Over the years Steven became quite the sports fan and started collecting sports memorabilia. His football team was the Oakland Raiders and his beloved Arkansas Razorbacks. In addition to being a sports fan, he also loved exotic and domestic cars. He went to several auctions and car shows over the years. One of his greatest joys and pride was his red Ferrari Testarossa.
Carolyn Sue Gunn was born the daughter of Martha Hobbs and Charles Flake on July 2, 1950 in Memphis, Tennessee and departed this life August 30, 2012 at Cox South Hospital in Springfield, Missouri at the age of 62 years.
She is survived by three daughters, Kimberly Wilkins of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Heather Green of Thayer, Missouri and Jenny Wesneski of Carrollton, Texas; five grandchildren, Camden Wilkins of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Taylor Green of Thayer, Missouri and Payton, Addyson and Taylor Wesneski of Carrollton, Texas; one sister, Linda Gavrock of Mississippi; five nieces and nephews; thirteen grandnieces and grandnephews; several other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Deborah Flake, who passed away only a few days before Carolyn.
She will be remembered as a devoted and loving mother, grandmother and aunt, as well as, a wonderful friend. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her, especially the veterans and many friends from Club 63/VFW Chapter 500 and the ThayerEagles Club Lodge 4231.

He was born the son of the late Cicero Frank Morris and Annie Gibbs Morris, on June 15, 1920 in Jackson County, Arkansas and died September 8, 2012 in West Plains, Missouri.
He was united in marriage April 24, 1944 in Alexanderia, Louisiana to Marie Deaton, who preceded him in death May 2, 2010.
He is survived by two children, Danita Faye Warner Crosby, husband, Jim, Caulfield, Missouri, and Dorothy Raye Warner Miller, husband, Dean, Lawson, Missouri; one brother, Reverend Charles Morris, wife, Irma, West Plains; one sister, Norma Jean Crotts, husband, Harvey, West Plains; ten grandchildren; twenty-six great grandchildren; seven great great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
David Claude Wake was born the son of David Camp and Edna Grace (Homan) Wake on December 2, 1946 in San Bernardino, California and departed this life on September 9, 2012 at his home in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas at the age of 65 years.
He is survived by his son, Michael Wake and wife, Monica of Ontario, California; two daughters, Stacy Hughes and husband, Tom of Colton, California, and Nikki Blackwood of San Bernardino, California; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one sister, Ola Collier and husband, Gene of Koshkonong, Missouri; one sister-in-law, Pamela Wake of Koshkonong; one step-sister, Sandy Pruett and husband, Ronnie of Mountain View, Missouri; his step-mother, Mary Wake of Mountain View; a half-brother, Ted Wake of Arkansas; two former wives, Gloria Wake and Angie Wake; several nieces and nephews, and many friends
He was preceded in death by his father, David Camp Wake; his mother, Edna Grace (Homan) Brockette; one brother, Bill Wake Sr. and one sister, Mary Grace Norris.
David lived most of his life in California, working as a manager in the hotel and restaurant supply industry. He loved life, was always happy and very witty, and adored his little dog, Missy. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing cards and spending time with his family.
After his retirement, he moved to his ancestral home in Missouri to be close to his brother and sister. He developed special friendships with his niece, Carey Quick, who helped with chores around his home, and with his nephew and fishing buddy, Bill Wake Jr.
David was of the Christian faith. He will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Dorothy Mae Manker was born the daughter of Martin Luther Hertzler and Lovie Schlotterbach Hertzler on December 15, 1914 in Thayer, Missouri and departed this life August 31, 2012 at Ozarks Medical Center in West Plains, Missouri at the age of 97 years.
She was united in marriage on December 24, 1932 to Edward Manker.
She is survived by three children, Lovie Guffey of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas, William “Bud” Manker and wife, Joan of Thayer, Missouri and Rosa Hudson of Thayer, Missouri; seventeen grandchildren; twenty eight great-grandchildren; fourteen great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Rosa Lee Nelson of Ozark, Missouri and Hazel Faye Ellis of Springfield, Missouri; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Lovie Hertzler; one son, Edward Manker, Jr.; two infant daughters; one grandson, Jamie Manker; one brother, Julius Hertzler and four sisters, Stella Hooper, Mary Rogers, Ruth Rico and Jo Parnell.
She was saved at the age of sixteen in the Rose Hill Baptist Church of which she became an active and faithful member for the remainder of her life. She served as Sunday School Teacher, Church Clerk and Treasurer for many years. She was an excellent seamstress and was employed by Rice Stix Garment Factory for many years and was President of the OWLS Club.
She became active in 4-H at an early age and was State Health Champion in Missouri at the age of fourteen years and later served as 4-H leader for many years.
Dorothy was active in Thayer Fun and Friends and enjoyed participating in Senior Olympic Games, where she received numerous awards. She was an avid bowler until the age of ninety-four. She was a member of the local garden club and enjoyed gardening, growing and preserving fruits and vegetables for future use.
She will be remembered by her family as a devoted, loving and caring person and by her community as a leader and supporter of all worth-while charities.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Manker will be at 2:00 PM, Monday, September 3, 2012 at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer, Missouri. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Monday afternoon from 1:00 PM until the time of the service. Burial will be in the Davis Cemetery, East of Thayer.
Mae Esther Whiteside Laster Frazier was born May 3, 1916, the eighth child of John Henry and Julia Isabell Victoria Hazelwood Whiteside at Fryatt, Arkansas, and departed this life August 31, 2012 at Shady Oaks Healthcare in Thayer, Missouri at the age of 96 years.
She was united in marriage on December 23, 1939 to Hugh Laster, who passed away just six years later in 1946. She was again united in marriage on May 3, 1950 to Terry Dalton Frazier who also preceded her in death in 2000.
She is survived by one son, Hugh Laster Jr. of Sherwood, Arkansas; three daughters, Bette Langston and husband, Keith, Mary Jane Taylor and husband, Larry and Elouise Johnson and husband, Doug, all of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas; seven grandchildren, Allen Laster, Julia Chance and husband, Bobby, Randal Langston and wife, Melinda, Beverly Goans and husband, Ed, Kristi Taylor, Jennifer Crowe and husband, Chuck, Karen Alexander and husband, Joshua; fifteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Hugh Laster and Terry Dalton Frazier, and nine brothers and sisters, Wesley, Elzie, Bertha, Everett, Flora, William, Sidney, Clay and Tressie.
Mae was a dedicated homemaker and enjoyed helping her husband with the operation of their dairy farm. She was an avid gardener who loved to read and crochet and was affectionately known by her grandchildren as “Ma Mae.”
Mrs. Frazier was a member of Burks Chapel Church of Christ. She will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother. She will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.
