Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 19, 2019 from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. before the service.
Burial will be in Pleasant Mound Cemetery, Douglas County, Missouri, under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc., West Plains.
Alyce Rae Schartz passed away on March 13, 2019 at Mercy Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.
She was born in Parsons, Kansas on February 14, 1943 to Raymond and Hazel McCoy.
She was united in marriage on September 1, 1962 in Great Bend, Kansas to Larry Gene Schartz, who preceded her in death.
She graduated from cosmetology school in 1962. She owned and operated several successful beauty shops in Kansas and finished her career at Brooke Haven Healthcare in West Plains, Missouri.
She was an active leader in “A Sporting Chance” for over twenty five years and dedicated her life to helping those with disabilities. She enjoyed gardening and going to Grizzly basketball and volleyball games. She was a Christian and a person of faith. Her greatest love was her family.
She is survived by one brother, Grant McCoy and wife Donna of Edmond, Oklahoma; her son, Stacey Schartz and wife Linda of West Plains; her daughter, Michelle Schartz of West Plains; three grandchildren, Andrea Schartz, Samantha Fox and husband Zach, and Joseph Schartz, all of West Plains; three great grandchildren, Emmett Fox, Cash Fox, and Henry Schartz, all of West Plains.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond McCoy and Hazel Engleman McCoy; her husband, Larry Schartz; one sister, Rita Dannebohm, and one brother, Mark McCoy.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, March 21, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Union Grove Cemetery, Howell County, Missouri, under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc., West Plains.
Allan Ray Ninness was born the son of Allen Woodrow Ninness and Frances Catherine Seitz Ninness on October 10, 1943, in Evansville, Indiana and departed this life on March 16, 2019 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri, at the age of 75 years.
He was married to Susan Imogene Shero on October 10, 1965.
He is survived by his wife, Susan Imogene Ninness of the home, in Gatewood, Missouri; two sons, Allan Craig Ninness and wife, Karen of Eldorado, Illinois, and Brian William Ninness and wife, Christina of North Richland Hills, Texas ; two grandsons, Jacob Allan Ninness and Adam Craig Ninness, both of Eldorado, Illinois; and one step-grandson, Ben Alberding of North Richland Hills, Texas. He is also survived by three sisters and two brothers; many nieces and nephews; other relatives; and countless friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Allen and Frances Ninness.
After earning his bachelor’s degree in General Agriculture, he, along with his wife, owned and operated Ninness Greenhouse and Nursery in Eldorado, Illinois for over 30 years. While running the greenhouse, Allan also was employed as a teacher at the Golconda, Illinois Job Corp Center.
He loved to raise plants and animals, and over the years,. he raised many exotic animals. After moving to Gatewood, Missouri in 1990, he began raising cattle.
In his spare time, Allan liked sailing, camping, hiking and traveling. He also liked to sing and sang in the Barbershop Harmony Society, singing is quartets as well as chorus.
Allan was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Thayer; there he was very active in the church, singing in the choir and teaching sunday school.
Allan will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be missed by all who knew him.
Funeral services for Allan Ray Ninness were held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 21, 2019 at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer, Missouri with Pastor Pam Ekey officiating.
The family received friends from 11:30 a.m. to service time on Thursday, March 21, 2019 at Carter Funeral Home in Thayer.
Local arrangements were under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc. in Thayer.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Thayer.
Additional services were held in Eldorado, Illinois with burial in White County Memorial Gardens in Carmi, Illinois on Saturday, March 23, 2019.

Beverly Bankston Richardson was born in Wasco, California December 16, 1948. She departed this life at her home near Alton, MO March 13, 2019.
She was preceded in death by her father Monita Bankston and mother Hazel Nichols, one brother John Bankston, and one sister Brinda Reed.
She is survived by her husband Jerry Richardson of the home, four children: Rachel Grace Massey and husband Kevin of Lebanon, MO, Rebecca Irene Richardson of West Plains, MO, Jerry Todd Richardson and wife Cassandra of Houston, MO and Travis Jody Richardson and wife Jessica of Alton, MO. Twelve grandchildren: Allanah Honeycutt, Megan Carmichael, Jerrica Massey, Karissa Massey, Peytan Bassett, Madalyn Richardson, Lydia Massey, Olivia Richardson, Elizabeth Richardson, Lana Richardson, Alexander Richardson, and Savannah Richardson, and one great-grand child: Elisha James Honeycutt, and a special grandson, Joseph Fadule. She is also survived by two brothers Ray and Donnie Bankston and one sister Ellen Grisham and her husband, Larry.
Beverly was baptized into Christ at age 14. She was a member of the Oak Forest Church at Alton, MO. She has dedicated her life to the cause of Christ by her example, faith and works.
Beverly has lived her life with a child-like faith, devoted to God and the love of her family and friends. She had many different jobs in her life, but the most important to her was being a wife, a mother and a servant of Jesus Christ.
Of her many hobbies, her favorite was gardening. Beverly had a green thumb and loved to play in her flower and vegetable garden!
On February 16, 1967, she was married to Jerry, her helpmate and constant companion for over 52 years. Her fidelity to her husband, family and fellow Christians was never doubted by anyone.
A great vacuum is left in the hearts of her family, to be filled by the love of God by the knowledge of her faithfulness to Him and in the hope of a resurrection.
Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, March 17, 2019 at 2:00 PM at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer, Missouri with Bob Loudermilk officiating.

Lela Rae Stith was born in Cleveland, Ohio, the daughter of Acie Ray Moore and Velva Lowery Moore on March 29, 1926 and departed this life on March 11, 2019 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of 92 years.
She was united in marriage to James ‘J.F.’ Stith on October 13, 1946 in Mountain Home, Arkansas. He preceded her in death on April 15, 1984.
She is survived by her son, James ‘Jimmy’ Stith and wife, Heidi, of Harrison, Arkansas; two grandchildren, Trey Stith and Brooke Stith, both of Harrison, Arkansas; many nieces and nephews; other relatives; and countless friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J.F. Stith; her parents, Acie and Velva Moore; and three sisters, June Dern, Ruth Stubbles and Audrey Polley.
Lela was a Christian and member of the Shiloh Grand Gulf Church. She was the co-owner and operator of Stith Produce in Koshkonong, Missouri for many years.
She was a wonderful cook and loved making homemade candy for her friends and family. She enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles, playing dominos and was an avid reader. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and was a kind and loyal friend.
Lela will be remembered as a loving and caring mother, grandmother, sister and a friend to all. She will truly be missed by all that knew her.

Teddy Joe Standley was born in Koshkonong, Missouri, the son of Joseph Hooker Standley, Jr. and Mabel Edith Winn Standley on August 31, 1941 and departed this life on March 11, 2019 at Shady Oaks Healthcare in Thayer, Missouri, at the age of 77 years.
He was united in marriage to Esther Lone in Yangon, Myanmar on January 1, 1973. She preceded him in death on September 13, 1997.
He is survived by his son, Ted L. Standley and wife, Diana, of Katy, Texas; two grandchildren, Ethan and Elena, both of Katy, Texas; five sisters, Dorthy, Muriel, Ruth, Mary and Brenda; many nieces and nephews; other relatives; and countless friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Esther Lone Standley; his parents, Joseph and Mabel Standley; one sister, Sarah; and two brothers, Harold Eugene Standley and James Standley.
Teddy was an Elder and member of the Church of God International in Willow Springs, Missouri. He was a Veteran of the United States Army with over twenty years of dedicated service, retiring as a Sergeant.
He was very involved in his church and enjoyed the activities held there. He also loved to farm and fish. Most of all, he loved to take his grandchildren, Ethan and Elena, fishing and camping as often as possible.
Teddy was very active in his community. He was always willing to help out wherever he was needed. He also served as a volunteer firefighter in Koshkonong, Missouri for many years. He was well respected and a friend to all.
Teddy will be remembered as a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will truly be missed by all that knew him.

Edward Eugene Bresee was born in Chanute, Kansas, the son of Gene Bresee and Esther Johnston Bresee on May 22, 1958 and departed this life on March 6, 2019 at his home in West Plains, Missouri, at the age of 60 years.
He is survived by his siblings, Charlene Herring of West Plains, Missouri, Brian Bresee and wife, Gina, of West Plains, Missouri, and Janet Brewer of Thayer, Missouri; many nieces and nephews; other relatives; and countless friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gene and Esther Bresee; one nephew, Dustin Bresee; and one brother-in-law, Frank Herring.
Edward was of the Baptist faith. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving his country proudly for many years. He was also a truck driver, spending many dedicated years of his life on the road.
He loved to fish and hunt as often as possible. When he was younger, he loved to go dancing. His most favorite thing to do was being an uncle. He was the guy his nieces and nephews went to when they needed someone to talk to or just hang out with.
Edward will be remembered as a loving and caring brother, uncle and a friend to all. He will truly be missed by all that knew him.

Edith Fern Kirby was born in Many Springs, Missouri, the daughter of Samuel ‘S.S.’ Sterling Lance and Lora Harriell Lance on February 27, 1931 and departed this life on March 5, 2019 at Shady Oaks Healthcare in Thayer, Missouri, at the age of 88 years.
She is survived by her son, Jonathan Kirby and wife, Betty Gail, of Evening Shade, Arkansas; one brother, Mac Lance and wife, Lillian, of Granite City, Illinois; two grandsons, Matt Kirby of Texas and Devan Kirby of Arkansas; one step grandson, Travis Cook of Hoxie, Arkansas; one sister-in-law, Leona Lance of St. Louis, Missouri; six great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; other relatives; and countless friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Lora Lance; two brothers, Dow and Van Lance; three sisters, Zee, Glee and Fay Lance; one grandson, Perry John Kirby; and her best friend, Lanny Newsome.
Edith was of the Freewill Baptist faith. She spent many years as a factory worker in St. Louis, Missouri. She helped make all sorts of items, from fuses to baby shoes.
Her favorite thing to do was TV shopping. She loved ordering things off of television shopping networks. She also enjoyed going out to eat with her best friend of twenty plus years, Lanny. Most of all, she loved spending time with her son and her grandchildren.
Edith will be remembered as a loving and caring mother, sister, grandmother, and a friend to all. She will truly be missed by all that knew her.

Melvill ‘Leon’ Chappell was born the son of Melvill Archie Chappell and Mary Essie Randolph Chappell on April 17, 1937, in Eaton, Arkansas and departed this life on February 28, 2019 at Shady Oaks Healthcare in Thayer, Missouri, at the age of 81 years.
He spent eighteen devoted years with his best friend, Lola Gatewood.
He is survived by his life love, Lola Gatewood of the home, in Brandsville, Missouri; seven children, Ronald Leon Chappell and wife, Brenda, of Lyons, Oregon, Virgil Alan Chappell, Timothy Gatewood and wife, Suzanna, of Brandsville, Missouri, Deborah Loudermilk and husband, Steve, of Arab, Alabama, Quintin Ross Gatewood and wife, Chris, of Pottersville, Missouri, Lydia Jones and husband, Robert, of Thayer, Missouri and Cliff Gatewood and wife, Sarah, of West Plains, Missouri; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; his furry companion, Princess; other relatives; and countless friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvill and Mary Chappell; and many other relatives.
Melvill was of the Baptist faith and loved to attend church whenever his health permitted. He enjoyed playing bingo and crafting unique pieces from wood for his friends and family.
He loved to visit with people as often as possible. Melvill was very sociable, outgoing and encouraging. People loved spending time with him, as he did with others. He loved to go out to eat, especially if he got to eat catfish. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family.
Melvill was a loving and caring father, grandfather and friend. He will truly be missed by all that knew him.
