Delieta Bookout was born in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas, the daughter of Adrain R. Downs and Ora A. Porter Downs on July 25, 1946 and departed this life on June 26, 2019 at her home in Thayer, Missouri at the age of 72 years.
She was united in marriage to Billy Cochran in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas in 1965. He preceded her in death. She was later united in marriage to John Bookout in Thayer, Missouri. He also preceded her in death.
She is survived by her son, Delbert Cochran and wife, Tabatha, of Paragould, Arkansas; two stepchildren, John Bookout, Jr. and Melinda Martin; three sisters, Rita Harkleroad of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas, Wanda Downs of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas and Christine Merriman of Floyd, Arkansas; eight step grandchildren; four step great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; other relatives; and countless friends.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Billy Cochran; her second husband, John Bookout; her parents, Adrain and Ora Downs; one brother, Larry Downs; two sisters, Mary Lawson and Glenda Hall; one daughter-in-law, Lisa Cochran; one nephew, Chad Howell; and one grandchild, Lisa Cochran.
Delieta attended State Line Pentecostal Church in Thayer, Missouri. She spent thirteen dedicated years as a Medical Technician at Shady Oaks Healthcare in Thayer, Missouri.
She loved to crochet, making beautiful creations for her friends and family. Delieta also enjoyed growing flowers, making flower arrangements and shopping.
Delieta will be remembered as a loving and caring mother, grandmother, sister and a friend to all. She will truly be missed by all that knew her.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 1, 2019 at 2:00 PM at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Wayne Hurst officiating.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 30, 2019 from 5:00 – 8:00 PM at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer.
Interment will be held Babe Collins Cemetery in Wirth, Arkansas.
