Lela Rae Stith was born in Cleveland, Ohio, the daughter of Acie Ray Moore and Velva Lowery Moore on March 29, 1926 and departed this life on March 11, 2019 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of 92 years.

She was united in marriage to James ‘J.F.’ Stith on October 13, 1946 in Mountain Home, Arkansas. He preceded her in death on April 15, 1984.

She is survived by her son, James ‘Jimmy’ Stith and wife, Heidi, of Harrison, Arkansas; two grandchildren, Trey Stith and Brooke Stith, both of Harrison, Arkansas; many nieces and nephews; other relatives; and countless friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, J.F. Stith; her parents, Acie and Velva Moore; and three sisters, June Dern, Ruth Stubbles and Audrey Polley.

Lela was a Christian and member of the Shiloh Grand Gulf Church. She was the co-owner and operator of Stith Produce in Koshkonong, Missouri for many years.

She was a wonderful cook and loved making homemade candy for her friends and family. She enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles, playing dominos and was an avid reader. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and was a kind and loyal friend.

Lela will be remembered as a loving and caring mother, grandmother, sister and a friend to all. She will truly be missed by all that knew her.

A Graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at 2:00 PM at the Koshkonong Cemetery in Koshkonong, Missouri with Brother Ron Richardson and Brother Larry Ball officiating.

Family will receive friends on Saturday, March 16, 2019 from 12:00 – 1:30 PM at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer, Missouri.

Arrangements are under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc. in Thayer, Missouri.
