Miriam Regina Howell LeGrand was born in Batesville, Arkansas, the daughter of Vernon E. Howell and Lavern Brazeal Howell on September 21, 1962. She departed this life on September 12, 2018, in Viola, Arkansas, at the age of 55 years.
She is survived by her husband, Fred LeGrand, of the home in Viola, Arkansas; her father, Vernon E. Howell of Thayer, Missouri; her mother-in-law, Edith LeGrand of Oxly, Missouri; two sisters, Martha Tuttle and husband, Roger of West Plains, Missouri, and Elisabeth DeShane and husband, Kenn of Xian, China; two brothers, Daniel Howell and wife, Tammy of Thayer, Missouri and David Howell and wife, Rhonda, of West Plains, Missouri; her special nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Lavern Howell and her father-in-law, Ralph LeGrand.
Miriam was of the Assembly of God faith. She loved playing the piano and singing for the Lord. She was a master pianist, playing since the age of eleven. She was well known for her ability to “tickle the ivory keys.” She loved gospel music and was a pianist for the Howell Family Singers for over 30 years.
She was a compassionate person. She enjoyed caring for her patients as an RN at Ash Flat Health Care and Rehab Center in Arkansas.
Miriam was deeply devoted to her family and enjoyed family get-togethers. She loved her dogs, and they became part of her family. She will be remembered for her contagious laughter which rang out above the rest. She will be missed by all that knew her
Funeral services for Miriam Howell LeGrand will be held Monday, September 17, 2018 at 10:00 AM in the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer , Missouri, with Reverend Phil Combs and Reverend Gary Ellsworth officiating.
Visitation will be on Sunday afternoon from 3:00-6:00 PM at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer.
Burial will be in Shiloh Cemetery in Ellsinore, Missouri with services under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc. in Thayer.
