William Douglas Wells was born in Ravenden springs, Arkansas, the son of Bill and Maudie Wells, on May 18, 1949, and left this world at his home in Myrtle, Missouri on July 1, 2018, at the age of 69 years.
He was united in marriage on June 15, 1968, at Delhalf Church of Christ, to Sherry Honeycutt.
Doug is survived by his wife, Sherry Wells of the home; two children, Keith Wells of Myrtle, Missouri and Tina Risner of Myrtle, Missouri; five grandchildren, Taylor Emberton of Springfield, Missouri, Bradley Risner, Lauryn Risner, Brooklyn Risner and Emmett Cooper, all of Myrtle, Missouri; one sister, Diane Bennett and husband, Clinton; and four brothers, Millard Wells and wife, Donna, Dennis Wells and wife, Mary, Danny Wells and wife, Janet, and Anthony Wells and wife, Dana.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Maudie Wells and a brother, Kenneth Wells.
Doug liked to hunt, including hunting with his grandkids. He was a baseball fan, especially the St. Louis Cardinals. He also was known for teasing family and friends.
He was a loving husband, dad, grandpa and friend. He was well known for his smile, laugh, humor and love of helping others. Doug will be missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.
Graveside services will be held Friday, July 6, 2018, at 11:00 AM at Wells Cemetery in Ravenden Springs, Arkansas. Following the graveside service, a Celebration of Life will be held at the Ravenden Springs School.
Interment will be in Wells Cemetery with services under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc. in Thayer, Missouri.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Brenten Cox Warrior Foundation. Donations may be left at Carter Funeral Home in Thayer, Missouri or First National Bank in Imboden, Arkansas.
