Roger Stromatt

Roger Lee Stromatt was born the son of Clifford Stromatt and Maxine Hurt Stromatt on March 4, 1949, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, and passed from this life on May 10, 2018, at his home in Koshkonong, Missouri, at the age of 69 years.

He was united in marriage on September 22, 1970, at St. Charles, Missouri, to Vickie Sue Coggins.

He is survived by his wife, Vickie Stromatt of the home in Koshkonong; one son, Roger Stromatt and wife, Tonya of Moulton, Alabama; three daughters, Alicia L. Taylor and husband, Heath of Double Springs, Alabama, Elizabeth Godsey and husband, Nathaniel of Miami, Florida, and Charise Bailey and husband, Bill of Double Springs, Alabama; twelve grandchildren; two great grandchildren; four brothers and sisters, Patricia Stevenson and husband, Robert of Troy, Missouri, Helen Bradley and husband, Ronnie of Missouri, Bobby Stromatt and wife, Judy and Carolyn McDonald and husband, Kenneth, all of Double Springs, Alabama; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Maxine Stromatt; and seven brothers and sisters.

Roger chose to further his education, earning a Master’s Degree in Mechancial Engineering.

He was well known for his expertise in machinery repair. He worked several years for area dealerships and later owned and operated his own successful repair business.

Roger was a cattle farmer, and in his spare time he enjoyed hunting, fishing, horseback riding, and conversations with friends. Most of all, he loved time spent with his family, especially the grandkids.

Roger was a man of mechancial knowledge, integrity, and was a loyal friend. He will truly be missed by his family, many friends, and the community in which he lived.

Funeral services will be held Monday, May 14, 2018, at 8:00 PM at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer with Kenneth McDonald officiating.

The family will receive friends Monday, May 14th from 6:00 PM until service time at the Funeral Home Chapel.

Services are under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc. in Thayer.
