Graveside services for Anita Ruth Elam, 95, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 29, 2011, at Oak Lawn Cemetery, West Plains, with Brother Bill Bales officiating, under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc., West Plains.
She was born the daughter of the late Ferdinand Buchardt and Annie Zahn Buchardt, on April 2, 1916 in West Chicago, Illinois and died August 26, 2011 in West Plains, Missouri.
She was united in marriage December 5, 1965 in Chicago, Illinois to Howard Elam, who preceded her in death December 19, 1987.
She is survived by one nephew, Dale R. Buchardt, West Chicago, Illinois.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; one brother, Edgar Buchardt, and one sister, Loretta Mensing.
She was a devoted wife, loving sister, and friend to many, and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
