Funeral services for Floyd Ledbetter, 92, West Plains, Mo, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 21, 2017, at Carter Funeral Home Chapel, West Plains, under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc., West Plains.
He was born the son of the late James Allen Ledbetter and Ruby O. Mahan Ledbetter, on April 28, 1925 in West Plains, Missouri and died August 17, 2017 in West Plains, Missouri.
He was united in marriage April 4, 1947 in West Plains, Missouri to Hazel Romans, who preceded him in death January 28, 2011.
He is survived by seven children, Laverna Williams and husband Howard, Lebanon, Missouri; F. Dean Ledbetter, West Plains, Missouri; James Clinton Ledbetter and wife Shelley, Gainesville, Missouri; Donald Eugene Ledbetter and wife Sue, Gainesville, Missouri; Joe Wayne Ledbetter and wife Ronda, West Plains, Missouri; Ruby Alice Pery and fiance David Conway, Steele, Missouri, and Steven Douglas Ledbetter and wife Stacey, West Plains, Missouri; one brother-in-law and two sisters-in-law; twenty grandchildren, Robyn Adams, Plato, Missouri, Alicia Vedder, Highlandville, Missouri, Michael Buschman and wife Sheana, Spanaway, Washington, Heather Williams, Boulder, Colorado, Jackie Martin, Harrison, Arkansas, Carmie Petty and husband Mark, Symrna, South Carolina, Jeff Ledbetter and wife Brittany, West Plains, Missousri, Curtis Ledbetter and wife Heather, Mountain Home, Arkansas, Misty Koehn and husband, Jason, McKinney, Texas, Kyle Ledbetter and wife Laurie, Mountain Home, Arkansas, Joshua Ledbetter, Bentonville, Arkansas, Dustin Ledbetter and wife Brandi, West Plains, Missouri, Kassi Dupler and husband Bo, Caulfield, Missouri, Heather Ford and husband Robby, Louisville, Kentucky, Ryan Ledbetter and wife Ashlie, West Plains, Missouri, Audrea Small and husband Keith, West Plains, Missouri, Kayla Lau and husband Matt, South Fork, Missouri; fifty-one great grandchildren, with one on the way, and seven great great grandchildren, and a host of cousins, nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; one daughter, Mildred Maxine Ledbetter; ten siblings, and four grandchildren.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and great great grandfather, brother and uncle and friend to many. He was a great storyteller; loved to sing, and enjoyed working with his mules and horses. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 20, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home Chapel, West Plains.
Burial will be in Union Grove Cemetery, Howell County, Missouri, under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc., West Plains.
