Dennis Craig Barton, 69 of Alton, Missouri took his 1st steps in heaven on Saturday morning September 26, 2026. He was born January 28, 1957 in St. Louis, Missouri to Melvin and Lois (Waggoner) Barton.
Dennis was united in marriage to Sandy Walker on December 8, 2006.
Dennis is survived by his wife, Sandy of the home; a step-daughter, Cammie and friend Scott of West Plains; step-son, Lonnie and wife Debrah of Jamesville, Wisconsin; brother Danny and wife Kay of Nixa, Missouri; sister, Melba and husband Randy of West Plains, Missouri; sister-in-law, Debbie of Alton, Missouri and many nephews and nieces.
Dennis was preceded in death by his loving parents, Melvin and Lois Barton.
Dennis was a gentle spirit, had a great sense of humor, an onery-side and big heart. He never met a stranger; he loved everyone and everyone loved him. He worked hard most all of his life, loved the farm life and loved his family.
Dennis was such a part of our lives, our memories, and our family in a way that will never be replaced. He had his own unique personality, his own way of seeing the world, and a presence that will never be forgotten.
Throughout his life, he shared special moments with those who knew and loved him. Whether through laughter, conversation, or simply being himself, he created memories that will remain in our hearts forever.
Memorial services will be held Sunday, October 25, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home Chapel, West Plains, Missouri.
There will be a visitation time from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. before the service.
