Earlene Jones (Tuffy), age 79, of Koshkonong, Missouri, passed away June 4, 2025, in West Plains, Missouri. Earlene was born June 17, 1945, to Earl and Lorene (Rogers) Jones in Koshkonong, Missouri.
Earlene was a spitfire that never met a stranger. She never backed down from a fight when she thought someone had been done wrong. She loved working in her yard, planting flowers, having Sunday dinners and helping the community, especially anyone that needed help. She was a true neighbor.
Earlene enjoyed playing cards with her buddies and made several trips to Downstream Casino with her buddy Lena Robertson. She worked at the Shoe Factory in West Plains, Missouri, for many years.
Earlene loved her family dearly and will be greatly missed by all that knew her.
She is survived by her daughter Vickie Oxley, husband Theron; two grandkids Jessica Buckman, husband Charles and Levi Oxley, wife Melanie; four great grandkids Blair Wood-Oxley, Hallee Johns, Colt Oxley and soon to be Cameron Oxley; two sisters Carol Meeker and Dolly Brashear, husband Jerry; three brothers Beryl Jones, Donnie Jones, wife Donna, and Ronnie Jones.
She is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers Garrel Rogers and John Jones; two sisters Nilene Ivey (David) and Terry Whisnant.
Graveside service will be held on Sunday, June 8, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at the Wayside Cemetery in Koshkonong, Missouri.
Interment will be at Wayside Cemetery, Koshkonong, Missouri with services under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc. in Thayer, Missouri.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Jude or Wayside Cemetery

I’m so very sorry for the family’s loss of this loved one. Earlene was never anything but nice to me. She always had a smile to share.

We will miss her here at the Thayer Fun & Friends Senior Center! She always had a smile and loved to talk about her yard and any new plans for it.

Aunt Earlene ,Had the funniest sense of humor & a contagious laugh & was and all around special lady ! She made a huge difference in my life & I will be forever grateful & thankful to have had her in my life ! Forever loved & missed Aunt Earlene Jones ! Love Sheree Beth
