Billy Joe Young, son of the late Joe Albert Young and Anna Agnes (Owens) Young was born April 10, 1944 and passed away November 11, 2024.

He is survived by his wife, Janice Young, West Plains, Missouri; three children, Joe A. Young and wife LaJeana, Mountain Home, Arkansas, Darren E. Young and wife Donna, Seymour, Missouri, and Heidi A. Johnson, Seymour, Missouri; three brothers, Denzil L. Young and wife Sharon, Seymour, Missouri, Ronald D. Young and wife Kathy, Seymour, Missouri, and Stanley L. Young and wife Sandy, Seymour, Missouri; one sister, Mary Louise Trapp, Seymour, Missouri; six grandchildren, Ciara Benett, Nichole Covert and husband Josh, Jacqueline Young, Hannah Walker and husband Gabe, Kelsei Johnson, and Cole Young; two great grandchildren, Lincoln Walker and Cash Walker.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two children, Gabriele (Young) Turina and Chris M. Etheridge; two brothers, Dean M. Young and Donald E. Young and one sister, Judy Kay (Young) Hill.

He retired from the United States Army as a Master Sergent after twenty-one years of active duty, doing two tours in Vietnam. He was awarded numerous meritorious service medals and honors.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 16, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel, West Plains, Missouri, under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc., West Plains, Missouri.

Visitation services will be held Saturday, November 16, 2024 from 12:00 noon until time of service.

Interment will be at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery, Springfield, Missouri.

    I’m so sorry to learn about Bill passing he was a good man im glad i had the opportunity to meet him my prayers are with you and your family during this sad time .
