Carolyn Sue Melton, 75, of Couch, Missouri, passed away on November 27, 2023, in West Plains, Missouri. She was born May 13, 1948 in Little Rock, Arkansas to Max Adolf Nebling and Corean Faye Hicks. Carolyn married the love of her life, Leon Melton on September 8, 2008 at the Toad Suck Park in Toad Suck, Arkansas. Carolyn was a home maker that loved many hobbies like, cooking, gardening, collecting native American Dolls and angels. She even enjoyed hunting, fishing, genealogy, history, watching wild life, traveling, and sight-seeing. She will be missed by all who knew her and her loved her.
She is survived by her husband, Leon Melton, son, Paul Drinkwater Jr., wife, Elizabeth of Cleaveland, AR, daughter, Christy Stover, husband Chuck, of Perryville, Arkansas, grandchildren; Brittany Drinkwater Taylor of Couch, Missouri, Chad Drinkwater (Libby), Dylan Drinkwater, Charles Honeycutt (Angel), Dakota Honeycutt and Cheyenne Hudson (Marshall), great-grandchildren; AJ, Allie, and Daxton, bonus great-grandchildren, bonus children and their families; Lisa Roberts (Greg), Lori Mensch (Curtis), Linde Bounds (Cetrice), Loni Melton, and Ladona Dobbins (Vince), multiple nieces, nephews, and friends of the family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Max Adolf Nebling and Corean Faye Hicks, brothers; Johnnie and Billy, sister, Sue, grandchildren; Cynthia, Carson, Isaac, Isiah, Destiny and several angel babies, and bonus daughters Lisa and Lori.
In lieu of flowers the family has asked that memorials be made the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8516
A Memorial Service will be held at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer, Missouri, on December 16, 2023 at 2:00 p.m.

Words cannot describe the love I have for this beautiful lady! She welcomed me into her family with open arms when I married her son, Paul. She is so greatly missed.
