Julia Florence Catherine Phillips was a woman of God. She was born on July 24th, 1941, and left us to dance with Jesus on October 10th, 2023. She dedicated her life to her family. It was her purpose in life to take care of them.
Julia is proceeded in death by her parents Jim & Ruth Phillips and one brother Arthur Phillips (Survived by wife Bonnie Phillips). One brother George Phillips (& wife Diane Phillips) survives Julia. She left three daughters Cathy Ousley (& husband Clayton Ousley), Lisa Thayer and Rebecca Bridges (& husband Joe Bridges) to continue her legacy.
Her nine grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren were her reason for waking up every morning. Whether to play tricks on, teach them about their walk with Jesus, argue, or get them out of trouble with their parents, it was always the best part of her day. She took pride in washing off the mud on her driveway so the “borrowed” truck evidence was gone. She fought fearlessly for her little friend Emma against the bats at the children’s park. She would take on anyone to protect her children.
Our mother was the most selfless woman we know. She sacrificed a quiet life for one of football games, track, chicken soup delivery, hospital runs, answering 3:00 in the morning phone calls and acting like you had not just woken her up, taking in and caring for her family at a moment’s notice. The door was always open, day or night. Julia was our hero. Our Proverbs 31 woman. A woman of honor and courage and we will be forever grateful for a life well lived.
Per her request, a party/celebration of life will be thrown in her honor at her home on October 27th at 5:30 pm. Please RSVP to [email protected].

Our sincere condolences to the family and friends of Julia. She touched so many lives and will be thought of often and loved forever. May your many wonderful memories be of great comfort. In the midst of the most painful grief, look forward to the future when “And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away “. Revelation 21:4. May God Jehovah give strength and his love to each of you.
