We say a tearful goodbye for now to Jamie Crawford, a much loved mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, who passed away on Saturday, July 22, 2023, in Dittmer, Missouri. She was born in West Plains, Missouri on August 16, 1987, graduated from Bakersfield High School as Valedictorian of her class, and attended Missouri State University, making the dean’s list in pre-law.
She and William Meyer had three wonderful children: Quentin Lloyd Meyer, Sophia Jewell Meyer, and Phoebe Rose Meyer, of whom she has left hundreds of wonderful photos from over the years for family to treasure. Jamie viewed her children as her greatest accomplishments, and enjoyed the unique joy that each one added to her life. Jamie loved autumn and all things fall, with her fall decorations and candles, hot cocoa, pumpkins, chocolate banana bread, and movies, warming the hearts of friends and family each year. She could often be found under her favorite blankets watching scary movies while enjoying her beloved fall candles. Her children’s cherished memories include creative craft days, backyard tent camping with friends, fall activities, and Christmas extravaganzas. Her dog, Zack, and cat, Avery, were often included in these activities and loved to show off to her with their “shenanigans,” as she called it. While her time on earth was short, Jamie made that time count and created many special memories for her family. Quentin fondly remembers a particularly great trip to Silver Dollar CIty where they spent the day with great friends, Sophia remembers endless coloring and crafting days, and Phoebe remembers all the special birthday parties that her mom gave her.
Jamie was predeceased by her grandparents, LLoyd and Barbara Croney and Marvin and Eula Crawford and her father James Crawford. Jamie is survived by her three children, Quentin, Sophia, and Phoebe, and their father, William of Ozark, Missouri; her mother, Irma Crawford of Caulfield, MO; siblings Katie (Daniel), Susanne (Barry), Cody (Catalina), Amy (Shane), and Dustin; and her bonus parents with whom she shared a special relationship, Paul and Lisa Meyer. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews but shared an extra special relationship with Shayle (Zach), Hannah, Aubri, Zoen, and Jacob.
Jamie will be missed by her loved ones, but they rejoice in knowing that she waits for them in a place where she is healed, whole, and loved.
Funeral services for Jamie Crawford will be Saturday, July 29, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel, West Plains, Missouri.
Burial will be at the Gospel Hill Cemetery, Howell County, Missouri, under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc., West Plains.
