James Clifford Smith Jr., of West Plains, Missouri passed away on January 18, 2023. James was born in Davenport, Iowa to James and Jeanetta (Nute) Smith on December 27, 1959. James loved to fish, hunt, and watch Nascar. He also enjoyed spending time with Roberta’s grandchildren.
James is survived by life partner, Roberta Eckert of West Plains, Missouri, sister, Pat (Larry) Richter of Blue Grass, Iowa, nephew, Billy (Dawn) Wailand of Davenport, Iowa, nephew, Danny (Sonya) Wailand of Jacksonville, Florida, niece, Tonya (Jason) Strong of Blue Grass, Iowa, niece, Terri Cheville of Blue Grass, Iowa, nephew, Tommy (Reina) Fierce of West Plains, Missouri, nephew, Travis (Rodney) Fierce of Sonoma, California, brother-in-law, Tom Fierce Sr., and lots of great nieces & nephews.
James is proceeded in death by his parents, sisters; Debbie Fierce and Donna Wailand and nephew, Tim-O Fierce.
Services will be at a later date. Arrangements by Carter Funeral Home Inc., West Plains.

Prayers goin up for the family. Big Jim will be greatly missed, he always had a smile on his face. No matter if I was haven a bad day at work some how he always made me smile and I would forget what I was upset with in the first place. I will see ya in the next life big buddy love ya and miss ya.
