Sharon K. Montalto was born the daughter of Mack A. Kissee and Goldie Adline Ivey Young on January 13, 1945, in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas, and departed this life April 2, 2018, at Ozarks Medical Center in West Plains, Missouri, at the age of 73 years.

She is survived by one son, Joseph Montalto of Kansas City, Missouri; one daughter, Elizabeth Beckett and husband, Matthew of Nashville, Tennessee; four grandchildren, Joseph Zahnd, Christopher Zahnd, Anthony Beckett, and Leda Beckett; one brother, Larry Dean Kissee of Cherokee Village, Arkansas; nieces and nephews; other relatives; and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mack Kissee and Goldie Young; one son, Anthony Montalto; one brother, John Kissee; and two sisters, Lota Rule and Lillian Burr.

Sharon was an avid student, graduating with a Masters Degree in American History. She taught American History in the Kansas City area Community Colleges for many years.

She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She loved the study and research of genealogy, both for her family and helping others, and enjoyed working in her garden.

She was loved by her family and will truly be missed by all who knew her.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, April 7th, 2018, at 2:00 PM at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer with Harvey Allen officiating.

Visitation will be held Saturday, April 7th, from 12:00 Noon until service time at 2:00 in the Carter Funeral Home Chapel at Thayer.

Interment will be in the Hurst Cemetery near Mammoth Spring, Arkansas with services under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc. in Thayer.
