Donald Roy Fuller was born the son of James C. Fuller and Beurah (Roberts) Nickless Fuller on March 16, 1936, in Alton, Missouri, and departed this life July 14, 2015, in West Plains, Missouri, at the age of 79 years.
He was united in marriage at Salem, Arkansas, on November 10, 1956, to Ruby Jean Holloway.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-eight years, Ruby Fuller of their home in Thayer, Missouri; one daughter, Ronda Hall and husband, Steve of Thayer; one son, Ronald Fuller and wife, Kimberly of Thayer; one granddaughter, Amanda Jens and husband, David of Pomona, Missouri; one grandson, Gregory Fuller of Springfield, Missouri; four great granddaughters, Brooke, Tessa, Lorrin, and Addison Jens; one sister, Joyce LaWanda Archer of Republic, Missouri; one brother, Paul Dean Nickless and wife, Sharon of Camdenton, Missouri; special family friend, Sharon Howard; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Beurah Fuller; five brothers, Robert, William “Buster,” Lewis, and Clifton Nickless, and James Clyde Fuller; three sisters, Wilda Kaufman, Mittie Pingleton, and Mary E. Nickless; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ross and Grace Holloway.
When he and Ruby were first married, Roy worked for Eder Oil Company in Thayer, and later, ran a Foremost Milk route for more than nine years. He bought his first semi-truck in 1982 and started Donald Roy Fuller Trucking, which he owned and operated for more than thirty years.
He served as a board member of the George D. Hay Foundation and was baptized at the Thayer Free Will Baptist Church.
Roy was a musician and loved playing and performing music. He spent countless hours playing Dobro and electric steel guitar with a variety of bands throughout the years and created friendships that would last his lifetime.
He enjoyed the outdoors and looked forward to deer hunting season each year.
Roy will be missed by his family and all of his friends that shared the love of music.
Funeral services for Mr. Fuller will be held Saturday, July 18, 2015, at 2:00 PM at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer, Missouri.
The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home in Thayer on Friday evening, July 17th, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
Burial will be in the Bailey Cemetery near Alton, Missouri, with services under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc. in Thayer.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the George D. Hay Foundation, and may be left at the funeral home in Thayer.

sincere condolences to the family in their time of need .we knew him from george d hayes he inducted me{Fred W.Masters into the hall of fame afew months ago.he was a good man he will be missed

Ruby and family, you have my deepest sympathy. I have know Roy most of my life as a friend and fellow trucker in formative years. I am saddened and shocked at his passing. I will miss his stories that helped recall ‘old times’. I pray for peace for all of you at this most difficult time.
