Phyliss (McMakin) Dills was born the daughter of Cleo McMakin and Ethel (Cotton) McMakin on February 28, 1933 in Oregon County, Missouri, and departed this life April 11, 2017 at Fox Ridge Senior Living in Bryant, Arkansas, at the age of 84 years.
She was united in marriage on February 19, 1952 in Thayer, Missouri, to Frank “Tommy” Dills, who preceded her in death on June 13, 2013.
She is survived by one son, Steve Dills and wife, Kim of Bryant, Arkansas; one daughter, Kimberly Mase and husband, Ron of Missouri City, Texas; six grandchildren, Tina Rhoades, Jeff Dills and wife, Phylis, Richard Dills and wife, Jill, Rachel Dills, Zachary Mase, and Brandon Mase; eight great-grandchildren, Jordan, Faith, Cooper, Karli, Addison, Aniston, Mya and Garrett; daughter-in-law, Joyce Dills Madden of Thayer, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; other relatives, and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Cleo and Ethel McMakin; one son, Rick Dills; one brother and five sisters.
Phyliss was an excellent cook and well known for her delicious chocolate pound cakes, hot rolls and cookies. Her favorite past time was spoiling and spending time with her grandchildren.
She was a member of Grand Gulf Shiloh Church, and will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and loyal friend. She will truly be missed by all.
Graveside services were Friday, April 14, 2017, at 10:00 AM at the Thayer Cemetery with Brother Dennis Williams officiating.
Burial was in Thayer Cemetery under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc. in Thayer.
