Marjorie Isis Nickless Diles was born in Many Springs, Missouri, the daughter of Arthur Aaron Nickless and Viola Pearl Hays on July 15, 1926 and departed this life on May 9, 2019 at Fulton County Hospital in Salem, Arkansas, at the age of 92 years.
She was united in marriage to Dorris H. Diles on December 28, 1943 in Salem, Arkansas. He preceded her in death on June 12, 1995, after fifty-one years of marriage.
She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Nicholson and husband, Lanis, of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas; her sister, Geraldine Holmes of Alton, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Justin Diles and wife, Jenny, Dennis Nicholson and wife, Andrea, Jennifer Maciejczyk, Amy Toomey and husband, Brian, Christopher Diles and wife, Chelsi, Amber Loverkamp and husband, Marvin, and Rece Diles; fourteen great grandchildren; other relatives; and countless friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dorris Diles; her parents, Arthur and Pearl Nickless; two sons, Jackie and Rickey Diles; three sisters, Maxine Key, Irene Allen and Lillie Hoyt; and one brother, Oliver Nickless.
Marjorie was a Christian and member of the Church of Christ. She spent most of her life as a Cosmetologist, retiring at the age of seventy-nine years. Her favorite job was taking care of her family, spending her time as a dedicated homemaker, mother and grandmother. She was an excellent cook, famous for her cornbread dressing, lemon cake and fried chicken. She loved to quilt, making beautiful creations for her friends and family. She also enjoyed spending time outdoors growing beautiful flowers.
Marjorie will be remembered as a loving and caring mother, grandmother, sister and a friend to all. She will truly be missed by all that knew her.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at 2:00 PM at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel with Barry O’Dell officiating.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 from 1:00 PM until service time at the chapel.
Interment will be held after the service at Thayer Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc. in Thayer, Missouri.
